Difference? They have more quality in their team.
More quality in that their players are more suited to the system!

yeah he did to an extent. He's been alright tonight has Gray. Keys on the other hand, clearly detests our club. I'd rather have Ben Shepard on't telly!

Only the second game.............but I cannot see a future with Hodgson in charge. But I guess with him in charge and the two spankers still calling the shots it looks very very sad for the season ahead.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

No, they just have more quality.

They're better or equal to us in every position on the pitch, bar Reina, Gerrard and Torres.

They had Bale and Lennon, we had Kuyt and Jovanovic.

I never wanted yes man Hodgson at the club and was pillioried for having that opinion he is mediocre at best devoid of any tactical nous 442 ffs removal of zonal which has been proved statiscally, no changes after 2-0

sure he interviews well but he is YESterday's man.

Prepare for a season of mediocrity whilst Inter win trophies

Spot on, especially regarding Johnson. I mean what is this fella actually good at?
Apart from being all over the show positionally, being sloppy in possession, being indecisive, rarely producing a decent cross and so on.

Write it off and move on.

                  Next up West Brom.

I love people giving it large now Hodgson has lost his first game and saying it was better under Rafa. We lost 19 games didn't we? in fact may have been more i stopped counting.

I've seen us play much worse than that, ok we may not of lost those games by 3 goals but there have been games in the past we have barely had a shot.

But for Hart doing his best impression of old red nose at utd, we'd have at least one goal tonight. If Hart carries on like that, he'll be the best keeper around. He has that knack of saving certain goals. Reina is the better all round keeper at present but Hart has something about him that is rare in keepers these days. When was last time Reina got near a penalty? seems like ages.

Him getting the tactics wrong have nothing to do with a bizarre notion of being a 'yes' man.

Trying to be objective after the pints watching the game, I think that a lot o the blame for tonights performance has to go to the manager. 442 with 2 rontline strikers and 2 'wide' players who aren't wingers but are more suited to 433/4231. And waway from home. Absolute madness. What was he thinking.

Trying to find a positive, I just hope tonight was one of those blips that happen when a new manager is getting to know his team.

Exactly. Our squad doesn't gave one typical wingers, so to play 442 was a massive gamble and it backfired.

Hopefully Roy learns from this and switches back to 4231 or buys some wingers otherwise it could be a struggle this year.

Oh and another thing, Joe Cole has to take a bit of flak for us losing tonight as he stupidly got himself suspended for this game.

In fairness to Hodgson the Mascherano thing has probably had a negative effect on the team and preparations.

I think that Poulson will complement Gerrard better in midfield then Lucas.

Roy got it wrong tonight but i have confidence that unlike Rafa Roy will learn and not make the same mistakes again where as rafa would not learn from his mistakes.
