Usually not one for the knee jerk reaction, but that was ****ing rubbish, absolute dog**** all over the park. Pish.

For what its worth:

Reina - Didn't do much wrong that I could make out
Johnson - Way off the pace. Terrible touches, movement all over the shop. One decent run which he ****ed up. Decision making very suspect
Carragher - Great defender, but I'm not sure how much more of his aimless ****ing hoofball I can take. Seriously Jamie, it's moronic and utterly unnecessary. If it was due to pressure and we needed to clear then fine, but it's every 3rd touch. Gifts possession to the opposition time and time again.
Skyrtl - Peno aside, didn't think he was as bad as others made out? Perhaps I missed something. Too busy moaning probably
Agger - Not a left back in a million years. Can do a job there, but clearly not his position. Adam Johnson made him look decidedly average. Bad decision Roy, but Aurelio looked shoddy last game, so guess we make do with what we've got
Jovanovic - Thank **** he was free. Terrible tonight. Ball bounced off him, rash challenges, insane shirt pulling in front of the lino, looked sluggish. Different player to what we saw vs Arsenal
Kuyt - Ugh. I appreciate what he brings to the team, but **** me it's painful to watch at times
Lucas - If he didn't give the ball away so much, and pass sideways so much, and remain static when his midfield partner needs someone to pass to, and lose possession, and give away silly fouls; he'd be decent. Looks confused as to what he's supposed to be doing
Gerrard - Feel sorry for him, looks a class above the rest of the team as normal. Cut out the redundant long range balls when a short one will do the trick though. Dead quiet in the first half hour, got better but struggled to dictate, maybe as much to do with those around him though
NGog - Raw, but played as well as anyone IMO
Torres - Get up lad. Went down far too easily. In hindsight, which is a wonderful thing, he probably shouldn't have started. Doesn't look like he's got his mojo

To summarise, the entire team was ****. Was looking forward to this given the team, but didn't gel at all and our movement in general was pathetic. I don't understand how our players can look so mediocre

It's only one game, and its early doors, but we were pish. Can't think of any real positives. Must do better

I was texted the team on the way to the ground - confirmed as the one we'd seen on the net earlier - and we all said we'd get cut apart. 4-4-2? Ngog and Torres? They've never started a game together before. A totally bizarre and inexplicable choice. If three amateurs could see that beforehand...

We were totally outnumbered in the middle and outmuscled. I was amazed at how big and powerful they are. Yaya Toure is possibly the biggest footballer I've ever seen, he's built like a heavyweight boxer. ****ing MASSIVE. They had a spare man in the middle all the time, and it was totally obvious that'd be the case. Gerrard and Lucas v their midfield three? Terrible. Sort it out Roy.

Jovanovic was totally appalling tonight, Johnson equally ****e. Lucas struggled like **** finding space but it wasn't hard to figure out.

I kept looking to the bench for inspiration. Roy just sat there and the subs sat there too. Strange.

They'll surely be thinking twice about their futures and rightly so.

I'm worried about how we can go forward from here and have a bit of sympathy for Roy who is somehow expected to us into the top 4 minus and possibly without one of our untouchables - Mascherano. He has work cut out to say the least.

To many balls sideways
Jovanvich doesn't get back quickly enough and can't defend
Agger isn't a LB
Midfield collects the ball too deep from defence
No heart
Torres out wide too much
No gambling from front players
No wingers
No team play only players trying to do things themselves
Man to man is worse than zonal
Srktel needs to stay on his feet

No tactical nous
No making changes when it was obvious things weren't working
No coaching from Sidelines

I think Torres will be off next season regardless of where we finish.

We had Arbeloa, Hyypia, Alonso and Benayoun as well dude.

They played a big part in us finishing 2nd that season.

Yeah, pretty much, just without our most consistent defender and an influential leader, an extremely reliable full back, our most creative attacking midfielder who's gone, and the metronome of our team who was in charge of our game on every freaking play, and to make it worse, he's replaced in the team by a little girl.
