Well let's be honest, there is nothing more fickle in life than a football fan

I admit I actually had a fair amount of optimism at the start of the season, I liked what I had seen from Roy up until that point. And to be fair I don't think he did a lot wrong for the Arsenal game. But I think he got a lot glaringly wrong tonight. It's just one game though and it would be silly to overreact in that regard.

I do want Rafa back still though

If Rafa had a system and a method of getting the best out of average players, or even a system based on grinding down opponents through the industry of a large group of strong players, it's going to be quite difficult for Roy to come in and impose his ways successfully in a short time.

Rafa was a total control freak - not necessarily a bad thing in a manager - and the players will probably take a while to adapt to new thinking, training and ideas. And while they're adapting, they're bound to look lost and ****e at times.

All that said, I have two big fears lurking in the back of my mind:

        1. We as fans totally over-rate our players. We may actually have a squad built by Rafa that's crap. For all sorts of reasons, some financial.

        2. Roy's tactical decisions tonight are evidence of him being a man out of time. His era when he brought new thinking into football - in Scandinavia lol - is over and he's being trading on that reputation ever since even though football has moved on...

Well that's kinda the point of post match discussion though isn't it. I thought we lost coz Roy got the formaion wrong and we were bossed in midfield. I dont think we would have won with that formation and personnel.

            Nothing constructive?

So far Frenchie has offered Bob the Charmer the opportunity to meet up for a scrap to sort things out due to some perceived differences in opinion about the tactical merits of Roy Hodgson.

            You couldn't make this **** up .

You've lost me, I mean totally. I don't understand where you're going with this.
Of course the formation is under scrutiny because we lost, if he played 442 and we won, then it would've been a great decision, but we got hammered 3-0, therefore we're questioning it.

If we won we'd be happy, but we lost so we're not...

If he's really Frenchie, he would surrender the second they started the fight.

Shame, he's a top guy. Last time 5 years ago when he asked me out, me being naive thought he wanted to show me a good time and pleasure me anally. Who'd have thought he wants to actually **** me. Wow.

Unless we can some money spent, we are going to struggle big time this year.

                      No Chance.

We had a dizzy CB playing LB, Johnson looks ****ing awful at the moment, i would consider taking him out and sticking Kelly there for a bit.

Lucas, well i didn't think he stood a chance tonight against that team and he didnt. City remind me of a better version of our team under houiller, big brutes all over the park, they were hungry for it tonight and they put in some crunching tackles.

Jova and Kuyt as wingers? wtf hodgson has to see them in training? for a guy who knows how to get the best out of the team what the **** is he playing them there for? Babel and Maxi would have offered far, far more. Starting to feel sorry for Babel he actually looks like he wants it when he comes on.

As for upfront Torres is out of form and i like Ngog and sure in a couple of years he may make a decent striker but putting things into perspective we have a 1.5million reserve striker for PSG as our partner for Torres. Take out Torres and we must have the weakest forward line in the premiership i think.

on a positive though, we have played 2 of the expected top 4 in City away and Arsenal at home and we are only 3 points of second place
It's Rafa's team, but by the same token, (last season aside) rafa also knew how to utilise it to not go and get spanked.

He struggled in terms of creativity and breaking down 10-man defences, but in terms of going away somewhere difficult and being hard to beat, well drilled and organised enough to get something from the game, there are no other managers i'd rather have.
