on a lighter note could it be that pepe is a great league keeper but for some reason doesnt make it at international level.

To be fair, given that he only plays international football about once a year, it wouldnt be a surprise.

I think you two need to give each other the slip FFS!

                    Amazing.

**** happens, it was a mistake, there is no habit and it isn't an international thing, just a mistake. Pepe is probably the most consistant and reliable keeper on the planet.

Silly thread. Name a better keeper that hasn't made a mistake.

                      not really.

Its true he is a great keeper Mr Consistency, but this is now the second howler sgter the Arsenal mistake.

As you say, his great saves far outweigh hs issues and there is certainly no feeling we have a nother calamity James here, and the point of the thread is that because he is soo consistent its strange that this year we have two glitches already
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

"Today I'm going to work on not falling over"
Actually that's Emile Heskey's training mantra

I don't care how much anti-slipping work you 'imagine' they do, you can't legislate for what happened. Now get off your high horse you miserable git. What's got into you ffs

well having been a goal keeper in a different sport we did lots of work on starting positions and reading the game etc you shouldnt slip. it will happen but you work to minimise things like this. be it different equipment or how you physically stand etc.

also it not being a proffesional sport like football we didnt even touch half of what football goalkeepers do. I once saw a program and it had david seaman on it and the level of prep and understanding they go into was asstounding.

there is a lot of hard work goes into the seamingly easy job of stopping the ball going into the net.

Surely you can see why they do slipping training in ice hockey?
