I wanted to keep our top level manager. Yes he made **** ups last season and it was a disaster. I just didn't want rid of him because we were always going to end up with a worse manager.

For me Roy needs time probably this season and I think he's going to get at least that anyway.

Rafa was a superb manager for us, so many good times in Europe, dicking the Manc's 4-1 at Old Toilet etc... but the 7th finish last season was always going to be his downfall - internally you got the feeling that any excuse to remove him from his role would be pounced upon as he was seen as a "trouble maker" and he was to a certain extent (not a bad thing for us fans!) the problem is we do need some sort of stability and Rafa still being at the helm wouldn't have offered us that at all - I mean I really don't think we'd be with either any or many more points than we have currently simply down to the state this great club has been put in financially and one thing that really worried me towards the end was that players didn't seem to be behind him anymore.

Rafa will always be a legend but for the here and now I think it was best for us and him he went - down the line Rafa being back at the helm under new owners and a board he could work with properly things I am sure would be much different!

Mate i've seen him play loads of time before he joined us, wasn't excited by the purchase (same as Merieles) but still have got behind him, am not writing him off and sayin sell him, but it is very evident that he is not a winger and not the answer to the LM problem but im perfectl yhappy to get behind the lad and hope that he can play a great role in our squad. Jovo came out today personally saying he is not playing well.

Difference between criticising a player for playing bad, and he admits it himself and slating our manager at every turn dealing with all the crap and bad luck that he has had to put up with since joining. No comparison there
