Refusing to consider any mitigations for Roy (being new etc) because of bitterness over Rafa is just something I disagree with. And the 'genuine fans' bull**** is pathetic, a sort of football forum godwins law.

I was a big Rafa fan, he made mistakes but i always thought he did the best anyone could under the circumstances. It hurt a lot to see imo short sighted people on here castigating him during one very difficult season. His excellent record counted for nothing - everyone was lapping up the tabloid, talksport, sky sports Anti-Rafa bull****.

But this was not uncommon. Just about every season when we went though a bad spell 50% of this forum wanted Rafa out. By the end of the season after an excellent run in the CL or a strong points finish in the league most of those people changed their tune. And then the following season changed it back again...and then back again...

Football fans are very hard if not impossible to please. In May 2009 most fans on here were delighted with Rafa - by October 2009 he was **** again.

I am bitter towards the short sighted nature of many of the fans on this forum over the past few years. I think if they were able to take a deep breath more often they would have seen that we were in good hands with Rafa and that last season was a failure because of factors far broader than the manager.

The only consolation of Rafa going was that we would finally find out whether someone else could come in and do a better job, make an immediate mark on the same players therefore proving Rafa had lost it.

So far that has not happened.
