As for the argument Meireles isn't ready yet i'd have to disagree. Didn't Rob Jones make his debut at OT as a complete rookie and was man of the match? Or was that at Anfield? More recently didn't Riera make his debut at Old Trafford and have a stormer. Not absolutely sure about them as my memory is playing tricks on me but RM is an experienced international and has played at OT before so would not be overwhelmed in anyway.

Riera had a good game that day, but he had previous experience of the Premier League with Man City.

Rob Jones of course was fantastci and marked Giggs out the agme on his debut, but Jones was of course English and didn't need to adapt to the pace of the game, just the obvious step up in class.

For foreign players most have the ability in spades, just take time to get the hang of the pace of the game.

I have not done one post where I have not made it perfectly clear that I think we should see Gerrard in DM alongside one of Poulsen or Lucas.

What I have said is that I think away to Man Utd, at this stage of Meireles settling in period, a pairing of him and Gerrard would not be ideal.
