Hodgson comes in a suddenly we are hot for him again

Now either Hodgson saw him / knew of him and ok'd it OR somebody else at the club (Kenny, Macia, Purslow) encouraged him to do it

    What are you sorry for?

I think it was essentially a Rafa signing. The deal was set up under Rafa. I recall the Echo saying it 'hung in the balance' (due to financial issues) after Rafa had gone, I don't recall them reporting it was "dead and buried".

Or perhaps a Dalglish/Macia/Purslow signing. A lot of our youth business seemed to be done before Hodgson arrived. The singing of Wilson and Shelvey before the sacking of Rafa still seems very odd to me.

I think that we needed to sign players and the fact that Roy was just being appointed, we've just re-used the database of players scouted during the latter days of Rafa's reign. Of that I'm pretty clear, as I remember a quote from him which he said that he didn't know anything of Karl Remy. With Wilson capable of playing as a left back, I'm sure he'd see him as someone who could do a job there. The reality seemed a bit far from it though, as by the time he assessed him (Wilson), he didn't seem to have much of a look in. Same for Shelvey.
        Are we winning?

Wilson was signed after Hodgson was appointed

It was certainly out of tune with what's happened since and with the team's off-key performances under Hodgson, you have to wonder if everyone's looking at different hymn sheets.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It wasnt a main headline in the Echo

It was a byword in one of their article

Basically just said that the Wilson deal was considered dead and buried

I do read further than the headline. Don't recall it.

Shows a small time club mentality to me, we should be trying to win any game.
United were visibly rattled after that second goal and were there for the taking. A better team would have done so. FFS even Everton went for it after their equaliser and probably would have got the winner if it wasn’t for the referee intervening on United behalf.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I dont see that system working with the players we have, just like I didnt see 4-4-2 working either
I don't know what game you watched but in the Birmingham game I watched the "arse-raping" amounted to two good headers by them on target in the first half and absolutely no attempts on target in the second half - indeed almost no attempt to cross the halfway line in the second half. Their almost total lack of attacking play in the second half indicates that they had more or less settled for a draw at half-time. Some arse raping

I cant be arsed searching for it it would effectively mean reading every Echo article from when the deal floundered to Hodgsons appointment

It was definitely in the Echo and definitely just at the end of a main article

Not even Jamie Redknapp can seriously think his wife is a top, top musician. Still, he's a diabolical pundit so anything's possible I suppose.
