Haha absurd? So Rafa comes into a world class squad, that have came runners up in the biggest club competition in the world 2 seasons consequtively before he arrived, the nearly men turned into winners, he gave them direction, he shored up their defence and along with the talent he had at his disposal they went from a great team to a superb team.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostThat's an absurd thing to say. He just gave them 'direction', do you really think that?
So yes, he gave them the direction they needed, kinda absurd you think its absurd when it happened

Actually, they were signed by the director of Football, not Cuper. They didn't win under Cuper though, they won under Rafa.Originally posted by danperkins View PostMate Valencia didn't need to sign any players they had a ridiculous team including: CaƱizares, Carboni,Ayala, Baraja, David Albelda, Vicente,Aimar,Gonzalez, world class players at the time all there when Rafa arrived built by Hector Cuper. The only big player sold in Rafa's time was Mendiata as far as i can remmember. Sure they were Champs League runners up 2 consecutive years before Rafa arrived, what Rafa gave him was direction to his credit but the tools were more than there for him, any manager coming into a squad like that would be over the moon, much the same as the treble winning Inter team Rafa just walked into.

Yeah but Rafa is a rubbish man manager so it was probably the change of kit man that made the difference.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostActually, they were signed by the director of Football, not Cuper. And also didn't win it after he left, finishing 7th the following season with what I imagine would have been more or less the same squad.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

You said the team was built by Cuper (which implies he bought them), it wasn't, it was trained by Cuper. The team was built by the director of football.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWhere did i say signed by Cuper mate? I said built, prob best to read post properly next time.
