If it helps, I thought it was partially down to Rafa, but not entirely and it was something that was more than redeemable.

This season so far is entirely down to Roy imo.

Again like SAJ, fair enough I hope that in time you acknowledge Roy if he does do a good job and if I don't do likewise if he does a bad one you point it out to me.

As you say, lets see where we are after the next 4 games and if all goes well we could have exactly the same number of points as last season.
Points and results can distort things

          Performances and tactics cant

Performances have been far worse than last year

Also the tactics have been FAR more negative than last year

Brilliant post - all your points above hit the nail in the head, in particular your first 2.

this is the key for me.

Under Rafa we did create cances and we blamed the fact that we had no backup striker.

Now the first choice striker has to dig for half chances.

Perhaps we should still be patient with Roy as he tries to get the new team to gel, but it isnt easy.

No, sorry performances can. How many times have we heard 'they didn't play well but nicked it'?

How many times have we seen a team under the cosh for most of the game only to go and nick it?

On a side note, it really isn't a good idea to try and respond to other posts after several alcoholic drinks, is it?

The problem is that results are an objective measure and performance is up to opinion. Not that I think our performances have been good mind you. But ultimately, he'll be judged on results not performances. A win tomorrow and we're 2 pts off the Champions League.

True. But he doesn't seem to be half the striker he was. Just doesn't look fit at all.

Cheers and it makes sense as well, not bad considering my state at the time of writing.
