Today was heartbreaking to see our great club reduced to the awful mess we had the misfortune and bare witness.
I honestly felt Liverpool Football Club would never endure the such distruction on the playing field like it did during GS's time, but this is becoming worse than Souness era..
RH is way in over his head, unable to compete at the level LFC should be competing and as such he is dragging us down to the level he took Blackburn..
If he is given more time (which he will) the our future looks bleak... Our only hope is H&G default and RBS make a stand and call in the loans... Forcing a fire sale (of sorts) and we can get a new owner(s) Otherwise I fear those final words R.I.P Liverpool Football Club.
I have never called for a managers head, but it's killing me watching this kind of damage game after game.... and reading or listening to delusional post match ramblings..
ROY MUST GO NOW BEFORE THE DAMAGE BECOMES TERMINAL

I never wanted him and I still don't
At the time, part of me did come round to the fact that someone who can get the best out of those at his disposal would be good for us, but there's been absolutely no evidence of this
All I've seen so far is woeful misuse of players. Dated tactics he seems unwilling to change, despite our players not suiting them. Late subs that make no real impact. A confused demeanour on the sideline, and after initially impressing in the media he turned angry, and now is seemingly just demused by the whole thing
He is managing some top players, also some dross, and they just don't look comfortable or happy playing how he wants them to
I'd only want him to stay if he basically changed his managerial style. Subs, tactics, everythingSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

This ^^^
Though the fact that I couldn't make it up there today due to being at the Ryder Cup yesterday might mean I'm being more generous than I would have been if I'd made it to the game.
Shocking result, and shocking performance from what I've read. I'd give him the derby to try and make amends, and hope that a good win there might be the spark that we need, but I've not got any confidence in Roy at the moment. I still think it's wrong to sack a manager this early in the season on principle, but that principle is being severely tested by the utter ****e that he's serving up at the moment.
My only logical reason for giving him more time would be because he's still learning about the players and the system that will get the best out of them, but on the evidence so far it looks like a damned slow learner. Poulsen is utter garbage and needs dropping for his own sake, it's embarrassing to watch him struggling week-in week-out. Meireles is not, and never will be, a right-midfielder. Roy should have learned that from the Sunderland game. Skrtel is not better than Agger, however you look at it and whatever tactics you want to play. He should have learned that by now. Not signing a striker in the summer was a huge mistake - it cost us massively last year, and it's costing us again. N'Gog doesn't strike fear into any opposition. And most of all - stop sitting back against **** sides. It was Rafa's biggest flaw but Roy's taking it to new levels. If you play defensively then they get the odd chance which gives them confidence and invites an upset. If you go at them from the first whistle then you can blow them away by half time.
He's on borrowed time, and only an impressive derby win can keep him in the job IMO. Even then I'd have doubts.

calvo, i think not having seen it is why you're being generous yes. at home to blackpool and the way he set us up was cowardly and pitiful. i've defended him and argued giving him time but i've changed my mind. i can't see this getting better. i think the problem is how he sets us up so deep, and is so conservative in getting men forward.
and he thinks the reason we lost two goals was because we were too attacking so no lessons learned.
we need someone with a totally different approach to his. as someone else said, he really is a big part of the problem.
i've done my best to defend him and give him time, but at home to blackpool being two nil down and seeing men out of position and your defensive line constrained so deep that the majority of the park is handed to the opposition is unforgiveable.
and more to the point, it's not a one off. it's typical of how he has set us up.

Get the **** Roy
EDIT-Just been reminded on twitter,Roy took Blackburn(with the second most expensive squad) to 1 win in their first 14 games the season they got relegated. We are halfway there so.
Great job Roy
He did say this though so maybe he'll walk
Roy Hodgson today admitted “I’m the one responsible because I’m the team manager.”Last edited by G; 03-10-10, 09:28 PM.

I keep hearing people going on about the Liverpool Way.
Well the Liverpool Way will come and haunt us if we carry on. I am totally against sacking any manager so early, but in this case we have to make an exception. Basically the managerial appointment of Roy Hodgson was a monumental error.
His whole mind set is one of defensive football, and as it's served him well for 35 years, he aint going to change it, no matter what the values are at our club. Whilst I don't want to get all Barca/Real on it, the football a manager of LFC should serve up should be at least a style that has us on the front foot for the majority of games. Roy has said himself that this is not the way he likes and he is sticking with his ideas.
As I've said elsewhere Roy is a talented manager but he is not flexible. He is one dimensional. His results will work in some places and fail in others. At a massive club like LFC, they'll fail. Put him in more moderate surroundings and he'll do fine. The likes of Fulham, Bolton, Wigan, Sunderland - they don't expect attacking football. They'd be happy under Roy.
Compare him to a manger like Holloway, Martinez or Di Matteo. All placed at modest clubs, but still try and play attacking football. All three of those managers lack the experience needed to manage LFC, but I guarantee you that everyone of them would make a better fist of the LFC job than Hodgson. because the way they see football is the way LFC fans expect.
So what now? Well for me we only have the option of Kenny taking over until the ownership problems are resolved. I can't see Kenny coming in. I heavily suspect Roy will keep the job and will then be asked to leave when the new owners come in. I expected this from the outset anyway so in a way, everyone will save face.
Roy will pocket his retirement funds and if Broughton and Purslow get us quality owners in then tbh, they'll have done their job and the ridiculous appointment of Hodgson will be forgiven in my eyes.
It's just a shame that Roy hasn't done half as well as many expected, because if he had we'd still be in with a great shout of 4th. If we don't get new owners soon that will definitely be out the window.Forwards.......

Sacking him will make things worse when all we need is things to get on track. 5 wins in a row and this poll would be differentOriginally posted by Taxi View PostNo matter how annoyed I am, when it comes down to it I just cannot justify sacking an LFC manager after just 7 games.*Except Michael, who died.

He's got to go. Now.
He's a complete idiot and absolutely useless. He really could get us relegated so we need to rectify it before it gets completely out of hand.
Do people suddenly think he's going to develop new methods or learn how to win away from home over night? Nope, he's ****e, get him away.
