To be honest, whilst i agree with all of the above, i strongly feel that Torres and Gerrard started hating it under Rafa too, in the final few months.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThis is a bonkers thread as the creator clearly already recognises
....but I dare say it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility if Torres was hating every second of life under Hodgson and his mouldy tactics. I don't think he enjoys chasing hopeful long punts into the corners, and I'm certain he doesn't enjoy playing every single week without having a clear cut chance created for him. I don't think he's had a one v one with a goalkeeper last season. It's shambolic.

Maybe because he's not a medical expert? He's saying he doesn't know what is wrong because it was right after the match and probably hadn't been briefed by the medical team.Originally posted by Daniel Torres View PostPossibly me just being paranoid. Reading too much into it. It was more the "I don't know anything..." "I wasn't aware of any problems with him..." "It came as a surprise to us..."
People need to seriously stop analysing every word the guy says. Stop listening to stupid meaningless postmatch interviews. It's what's happening on the pitch that's the issue.

liverpool manager roy hodgson admits he does not know how serious fernando torres' injury is after the striker limped off against blackpool.
The tangerines stunned anfield with a 2-1 win in the premier league in a result which piles the pressure on reds boss hodgson.
Torres limped off after less than 10 minutes on sunday with a groin problem and the spaniard was replaced by david ngog.
Hodgson says he still does not know the extent of the injury, and is not aware of when the problem occurred.
"he has a groin strain, but i don't know how severe it is," hodgson said.
"they (the medical team) are assessing it at the moment. It happened early in the game which came as a surprise to us.
"we were not aware of any problems with the groin. I don't know if it happened during the course of the game when he stretched for the ball. I don't really know."
liverpool will want to put the blackpool result out of their minds as soon as possible but will have to wait until after the international break until they play everton in a merseyside derby
i think its clear that this is coded talk to make everyone aware he doesn't think there's anything up with torres and they've fallen out, and he's come off with not a lot wrong with him. Can't imagine nando was too happy with the comments about name players not performing as well as his fulham players of last year (he was clearly referring to torres's bad form)...question is - is this a mascherano style refusal to play? Was this a message from torres that he's off and is not a fan of hodgson?
Unacceptable if it is. He knows how important he is and how he can change games.
Or maybe roy is just using him to dig himself out of a ****storm, deflection style.

****in hell I've been slaughtered for this. It all seemed so reasonable after 5 pints and being seriously ****ed off after the game. I'm just not used to a manager saying "I don't know..." all the time. When it comes to this club recently, I'm reading too much into everything thats said and released...like double speak!
Ok, I don't need anyone else to emphasise how wrong I may have been!
Lets just hope I'm wrong, eh.......

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Torres has never been fit since Hodgo took over. He risked playing him to get back to fitness but it backfired. What was the alternative? Plan B? Ngog? As if. It's one thing to say Torres not being too impressed with the new manager (let's face it, who is?), but his pace alone suggests he hasn't been fully fit for about 6 months. All this talk of him being better under Rafa is simply because he was fit for periods under Rafa. Next thing Hodgo will have been spotted on the grassy knoll in Dallas ffs.Substance > Style

He was also much better utilised under Rafa, there's surely no denying that.
I remember Torres scoring one of the goals against Derby in the 6-0 drubbing. Derby has the ball and tried to play it out of defence. Mascherano pressed one of their players about 25 yards from their goal. He won it, fed Nando, who was on the shoulder of their last man, and Nando stuck it away. We would never score a goal like that now. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
