A partnership in defence is crucial. IMO carra and skrtel are too similar and we need someone like agger to come into the team.

Problem is agger is always missing games. How can a partnership work when one player is always missing? I think I'd consider, sadly, selling him.
    Forwards.......

The image of Daniel Agger is always better than the reality. As you pointed out, a very talented footballer who looks like an ideal complement to Carra. But I think if his injury problems continue we may be better of selling him and replacing him with a CB who also dominates in the air - a younger Hyppia.

Well this doesnt bode well for Skrtel then, because he's recently started to develop a knack of bringing the ball out of defence.

On a brighter note, it clears up why Carra's just been given a 2 year extension.

Roy: "Jamie, before we offer you a contract extension, I have one question. Do you promise to keep hoofing the ball?"

          Jamie: "Yes boss."

Roy: "You've got yourself a new contract! Put it there."

So you have a player that has not been deemed fit enough to play a couple of games suddenly playing an important match when he was overcoming an injury, yeah I can see why the Spanish fa are having a go. Oh wait.....

If I was Agger I would have tried to play too, It's not like he is racking up any game time playing here.
If Roy is worried about injury proneness why sign someone with Fabio's injury record.

Maybe Agger was close to be ready for the first match, but jst to be sure - and knowing, that he wouldn't be able to make a difference - stayed out. When he turned up after the first match, the reporting was that he said:

I am only here, because I can play, not because I want to make a show of myself.

He hates to be injured, he hates to be left out of matches, he is one of those, who fights from sec. 1 to the very last. So it is - no matter whether it is a Liverpool-match, or an International. I am still sure, that he had contact to the medical staff at LFC before he was given green light to play against Cyprus for DK.

And once again - it was not his old injury, that came back - it was a new one, which had nothing to do with his back.

Get rid of Roy - makes more sense to me!!

**** of course, had'nt even considered that it was a new injury, i assumed by Hodgsons comments that the injury was what had been keeping him out for Lfc...and got worse on this International duty..the way he said about Agger making a miraculous recovery etc.

Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv: "After being injured, Agger is now sick, so he has ruled himself out.

                            Serious?! Was this today?

People say that it's disrespectful to call Hodgson names and this, that and the other. Yet he's cunted our players and fans off a lot more than us him.

**** off Hodgson. Agger has done more for LFC than you ever will.

Seems to me like Hodgson is very spitful when faced with criticism, but perhaps that's because he has been so used to it looking at his record?

Fair enough, Agger's comment earlier this season wasn't high diplomacy but I never expected Hodgson to hold a grudge over it... welcome to Hodgson, 7 years.
