It's wrong. Use your eyes.
I'd say the LFC site know more about it than anyone else, and as it's reported everywhere else other than the PL site, he's (179cm) 5'9. Like I said, use your eyes and you'll see. You're a walking disaster of a poster

I see what you're saying and i agree in most part. The fact that Wenger doesnt take the final step with an established signing like Eto'o (or a keeper), is a problem clearly. And i worry, with all the talk of age and young players, that NESV might make the same mistakes. Eto'o is class and to dismiss players like him (if that's what NESV would do) based on the fact that they arent 21-24, would be an error IMO.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostI'm not discounting expensive signings. The core of the SCUM had been in place and built around young players from the 1990s then they added Cantona etc plus they spent what they could afford in relation to revenues pre-Glazer. The success of the SCUM even recently was built off the back of young player from the 1990s and they just kept it going.
Chelski won the lottery.
My point is Wenger has for the most part got it right IMO, he just doesn't take that final step (Eto'o for example). He's built a excellent young squad that needs one or two quality experinced players to top it off. At this moment in time ARSEnal does not need to spend like Chelski or Man Citeh to win the League.
Re United, yeah they're living off the batch of kids, but they've still spent a ****load until recent seasons and the Glazers. Ferdinand £30, Rooney £30, Berbatov £32m, Anderson and Nani £35m, Valencia £15m etc. They have spent loads, even allowing for the kids they had coming through.

Arsenal win nothing, United's team has 3 players in it which cost nearly £100m and Barca spent lots too. Dont see your point hugely.Originally posted by danperkins View PostDear jesus your so opinionated its actually funny. I never said you said always, "I said always" , i know because i said it WTF!
I am talking about buying the right players for the club, not the most expensive players and certainly not the most established players. Having a keen eye for young talent is essential, look at Arsenal, look at United, look at Barca.
And Messi was renowned as one of the biggest prospect when he was a kid, debut at 16 for Barca. Special talent that was well documented in country of Argentina, probably why a club like say Barcelona bought him, hmm wonder how they heard of him at 11? Oh yeah i'd imagine they have scouts who look for talent.
So my point was and is that is not about buying the most expensive players, the most expensive players are not always the best or the righ tplayers for your team, its about buying players who are good value and who are right for LFC.
And Messi, yes at 16 he was known, but not at 11 when they signed him.
Sure BARCA knew of him, they scouted him - but the point is, he was generally unknown in the mainstream world of football and clearly, at that age, nobody knew for sure what would happen with him. Obviously though, you think there's tonnes of 11 year olds who are brilliant and everyone knows about them. Hardly any top players were signed at 11 for peanuts and go on to become one of the world's best, but no, there's loads of them out there...of course.
And againSo my point was and is that is not about buying the most expensive players, the most expensive players are not always the best or the righ tplayers for your team, its about buying players who are good value and who are right for LFC.

You love this word 'always', dont you? I know the most expensive players arent ALWAYS the best or right players, which is why i dont use that word.
GENERALLY and USUALLY though (see, not 'always') the best players tend to be the ones who cost top dollar. Generally dan. Generally.

This goes to show Perkins really doesn't pay attention. Ever.
If you'd watched any football in the last two years, you'd know Insua was nowhere near the smallest in the league.
You can always rely on Perkins for a good laugh
