I think - if true - it's just heat of the moment stuff and I'm sure anyone would think it's something a captain should do. I ****ing would. But then again, I ain't a captain - at least not of the red ship.
Thats why Kenny to bring them back to reality is the right choice -till the end of season get them used to how it is under managers in the real world!!! - Coz he is still the King!!

I've no problems in Gerrard saying this, I've been in dressing rooms myself and seen / heard and even made similar comments

Its a managers job to let the players speak and then react - either direct them in what you want OR consider their suggestions

A mere cup competition featuring Europe's also-rans, versus winning the league and the cup?

Anyway, he did not even win it.

Will he deserve it he wins the Europa League with us?
        Oh I don't know.

Quite why Andy Gray continues to bleat otherwise is beyond me. Gerrard is multi-talented in many, many ways but as a game-controlling CM, he just doesnt have the discipline or game intelligence.

Aye, if you look at my comments over the whole of his tenure, I've called him solely a cunt. At all times. Yet that particular scenario of Gerrard 'I'm the fockin' man' giving it large in the dresser just doesn't sit right in my head. Anyways, it's only a rumour, so ****it. Bodge'll be gone and whoever comes in after better make ****ing sure, regardless of any rumours, that he keeps the lid on the ****ing pot regarding all players. Sick of this Gerrard/Carragher thing, doing my nut in.

Liverpool slump again to leave manager facing exit while Ancelotti also feels the heat
Roy Hodgson’s tenure as Liverpool manager could reach an ignominious end today after his side were beaten 3-1 at Ewood Park by a Blackburn Rovers side missing ten members of their first-team squad.
And Carlo Ancelotti’s reign at Chelsea may be the subject of severe examination after a 1-0 defeat by relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Liverpool fans chanted, “You’re getting sacked in the morning” to the 63-year-old Hodgson as two goals from Benjani Mwaruwari and another from Martin Olsson condemned the Anfield club to their fifth defeat in their past nine Barclays Premier League matches. Steven Gerrard pulled a goal back but added to Liverpool’s embarrassment by missing a late penalty.
The other venue at which the knives could be sharpening is Villa Park. Gérard Houllier’s Aston Villa team were humbled 1-0 at home to Sunderland and had Emile Heskey sent off for violent conduct. Villa have now slipped into the relegation zone.
On a fractious night in Lancashire, El-Hadji Diouf, whose Liverpool career was marked by controversy, was warned by the police after arguing with the visiting fans while waiting to go on as a second-half substitute.
Hodgson, however, will find it hard to argue with the verdict of the crowd. Liverpool are 19 points behind Manchester United and now reside in the bottom half of the table.
Fenway Sports Group, the club’s American owners, will also have been disturbed by the number of empty seats in the away section at Ewood Park, coming hard on the heels of 9,000 no-shows at Anfield on New Year’s Day.
Fenway officials may now accelerate their plans to dispense with Hodgson’s services, having already determined to remove him as soon as a suitable replacement becomes available.
Ancelotti’s future looks bleak after a seventh vain attempt to claim an away win since October 30. The champions remain nine points adrift of United.
Whether Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, can stay patient with the Italian now appears doubtful. Luiz Felipe Scolari, Chelsea’s previous full-time manager, was dismissed in February two years ago with the team in fourth place. Now they stand fifth and appear to be struggling even to claim a place in the Champions League.

True, although they would have won the '74 world cup if they hadn't decided to try and humiliate the Germans after taking the lead in the final and possibly the '78 world cup, were it not for some very iffy refereeing decisions and the fact that Cruyjff decided not to go.

I tend to agree, regardless of how he'd fare having been 'out of the game' for so long (which I don't agree with that much, seeing as he's at every ****ing game and in and about the club all the time), you just know if he walked into the dressing room, you wouldn't hear as much as a fart.

Roy Hodgson spoke of his disappointment and frustration after Liverpool slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

"I'm very disappointed for the fans who travelled so far and gave us such good support only to see the team concede the goals we conceded.

"I thought in the second half we did our best to retrieve a seemingly hopeless situation and get back on track and who knows, if Steven's penalty had gone in we might have even made the last five minutes even more exciting.

"Unfortunately, when you're Liverpool and you lose away to Blackburn there is nothing that can be said which will put a positive slant or make the situation look any brighter, so as far as I'm concerned it's a really, really bad day.

"There's not much more I can say other than to say to the fans that anything they're feeling tonight, I can assure them the feeling is equally as bad and equally as depressed in the dressing room because tonight it was a performance which was anything other than the performance we wanted to give."

He continued: "In football you do what you always do. You keep going as best you can, you make certain you try and get over the result, you make certain the next result is a better one and hopefully wipes away the memory, but that's all you can do.

"Football unfortunately throws up some good moments and bad moments, and when it throws up a bad moment there is no amount of talking that is going to change anything.

"It'll be the next performance which could change things."

could this mean whether he goes or not is down to the game against the mancs??
You never know, football is football. It could be in five years' time, ten years' time, two years' time. We have two years of a contract here, we are really pleased here, the people are very nice, the fans are very similar to Liverpool fans, with passion, so everything is going well."

But Liverpool is home? "Yeah-it's the only house we have. Liverpool is my home and I will come back."

He got to the final with Fulham and kept them safely in midtable. They have a very small squad and that was a tremendous achievement.

In my eyes Ancelotti deserved it as Roy failed to win the cup. But Ancelotti had a fantastic squad and winning the league was the minimum requirement. His failings in Europe cost him.

Ancellotti has the same squad now. This year he is not doing so well. Last year he deserved it. This year he doesn't.

Hodgson did what was expected of him league wise. About the same as Hughes. 13th vs 14th.
                            Oh I don't know.

But he also got to a Europa Cup final, unlike Hughes. And when he didn't have to contend with playing Sunday/Thursday every week he got them to 7th, a season after he had done the impossible and kept them up by winning 4 of their last 5 games.

Hodgson has been ****e at Liverpool and I wanted him sacked as soon as NESV came in. But that doesn't make his achievements at Fulham anything less than exceptional.

Of course it does, it was now obviously a fluke.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
