FFS LDP. I swear you have prescription glasses which you refuse to read. It was me nit picking not Craig and I admitted to it. I didn't even disagree with your point I simply said that the single point was wrong.Originally posted by danperkins View PostYou know my point and you know what i meant, if your knit picking that much fair enough i'll humour you, take Aqua for example. We bought him....... injured
So your talking about having voids in the squad and what Rafa has to contend with but yet he can manage to buy not only a currently injured player but one with a history of injuries and one that hasn't managed to complete a full season in 6 years????
So we go and waste money on him, installments or no installments, full whack works out at 19.4 million sterling. So my point being when you waste money on players you could have put that money into other areas. And why would Rafa buy Aqua when he favours the 2 DM's? Where is Aqua gonna fot in behind Torres? Eh no Gerrard was there? Waste of moola
I guess you spend so much time arguing with everyone that as soon as somebody refuses something you say you get on the defensive.96 Never Forgotten

And it's not like he bought them all at the same time FFS, he always had to sell to buy which leads to this revlolving door each summer, but his hand were tied, G&T in the end managed to squeeze a profit for something like 4 consecutive windows.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostA load of those were youth signings for the Academy/reserves!
Rafa almost did it as well, he came really close and I think he'd have gotten it right in the end with proper backing.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

With massive backing; probably. With moderate backing; probably not imo.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostAnd it's not like he bought them all at the same time FFS, he always had to sell to buy which leads to this revlolving door each summer, but his hand were tied, G&T in the end managed to squeeze a profit for something like 4 consecutive windows.

some of them have since been gotten rid of, the rest played 1st team football!
and even if they are just youth team players does that make them any less of a waste of money??

As i said to Craig, switch Dosenna with Aqua then is your knit picking.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSo who would you have bought for left back then? That's the point you're missing - there were voids in the squad which needed filling.
You're talking as if we should've just not signed one and kept the £7m for a CB, 2 years later.
Never said we should sign nobody, Rafa just didn't use the money wisely, with a full scouting network and knowledge of the game he made some horrendous moves, especially in his last 2 seasons.
And if there's a hole in a burst gas pipe you don't just stick chewing gum over it as a quick fix. I'll tell you what, you get in touch with the LFC scouting department and ask them for a detailed list of which LB's were available on the market at that time? Sure off the top of my head Fiorentina paid 12 million quid for Juan Vargas in 2008, he can play LB and LM. Evra was bought for 5.5 million in 2006, We got Agger for 5 million, United got Vidic for 7 million? There are players availble and i'm sure there were other options too not every good player cost big money mate, we just chose the wrong ones.
Anyways sure give them a ring, i'll have a cuppa and then we'll take it from there

With moderate backing yes, our problems came from no backing.Originally posted by Operation View PostWith massive backing; probably. With moderate backing; probably not imo.

Whether they ended up making the step up to play 1st team football or not is completely irrelevant. Insua for example was bought as an 18 year old and fast-tracked through the Academy. Same with Plessis, Leto, San Jose and the others you cut out of the list.Originally posted by Havors View PostPéter Gulácsi

You are completely wrong.
Because they are kids. You do not see kids clogging up lists of transfers by other managers and they cost us peanuts.Originally posted by Havorsand even if they are just youth team players does that make them any less of a waste of money??Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Dan we are all allowed to have our own opinions and it would be boring if we didn't but for what it's worth (not a lot I know) I have to disagree with you here.Originally posted by danperkins View PostSo when does it become a fact, how many bad performances does it take and even being sold on before it becomes a fact, or we could just use your view when its always just an opinion, whatever suits mate.
Haha mate i'm 30 by the way so don't patronise me with condescending bull**** you've been spouting, your ultra opinionated and can't accept anyone else opinions who disagree with you. I haven't missed a competitive LFC game in over a decade mate, maybe more. On the off chance that i don't see it live, i'll always look at it later. No point in in this mine is bigger than urs horse****.
Aqua is gone because he failed and no other reason, he was never needed in the first place. Maxi has done **** all, he was on a free because he hasn't played well in years, since he joined LFC he has been woeful, and free? He took a wage reduction but i bet he gets over £50 grand a week, my cocker spaniel can run around like an idiot for 90 mins too.
Kyriagkos is a ****ebag, good in the air and thats about it. Enough said about him, wouldn't say he was a good signing. The fact that you are mentioning him shows how much of a struggle it is to pick successful signings out of Rafa's last 3 years.
I don't think Aqua failed at all, I don't think he was given enough time by our managers past and present.
I think he could of been really good for us this season but neither manager seemed to know how to use him, mainly IMO, because he knew how to create space and run into space and in a team of mainly statues that completely confused the rest of the team.
My fear is that Merieles (sp?) will go exactly the same way. He again, from what I've seen, is also a player capable of running into and creating space. The team again this season is statuesque at best and some of Merieles skill and awareness is lost in a team like ours at the moment.

I just rang them and they said Vargas struggles to defend in the Seria A let alone in the PL. Other quality left backs around include Lahm who is right footed and would have cost easily upwards of 15 mil. The left back City just bought from Lazio Kolarov who cost 17 mil (probs inflated by 3 or 4 mil cause of city) as well as Taiwo who is just like a black Riise. Then again im sure Chelsea would have given us A.Cole on the cheap.... There is a lack of quality Left Backs in the world atm which is why teams like Madrid have had to convert attackers (Marcelo) and teams like Juventus who can splash the cash have struggled to find a decent one too.96 Never Forgotten

And where is Insua now? Money is money when its in short supply. Your focusing on a few youth players, just have a think about all the senior squad **** that was bought. You need to stop arguing with me for the sake of arguing.
