A very bad knee injury meant that he missed almost the whole of last season.

It also was reported further back - its in this piece from December last year,

Mind you, it does also mention he wanted to sign Upson so Im not sure it adds to the argument

He's not an out and out striker though, more a 2nd striker/left sided forward.

2 ****ty performances against Blackburn and Bolton then humiliation against Chelsea and I reckon that'll about do it for Roy.

Hopefully it won't go on that long but i suppose we aren't exactly a club known for taking sudden action against managers.

But, did Wenger not say recently...that he was sorry he let Upson leave....and even before that said this...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...r-Arsenal.html

I think Upson..like many of our players now....just lost his way, and noone has put him back on the right track..under a good manager he could be so much better. imo.

mate you are totally representative about what is **** about the modern day Liverpool supporter with posts like this. I would hope that Liverpool FC make decsions based on facts not based on muppets booing at the end of a game or personal attacks on the manager.

This is the problem with modern football fans. They feel as though they are owed the moon on stick. Being a Liverpool supporter used to be about supporting the team theough thick and thin, not about trying to influence the board. People should take a closer look at Shankly's record. Contrary to belief he didnt win the league every single year.

I'm not defending Hodgson's record but I am not going to start targeting a guy who is clearly with the best intentions trying to do his best for Liverpool.

what staggers me is that I have not seen one single criticism of Fernando Torres.

And Torres has been an embarrassment to LFC, his attitude is appalling. A truly world class player, throwing a truly world class tantrum. Suck it up Nando and get your finger out of your arse.

Torres is being asked to play an alehouse frontman role. Like taking a Rolls Royce rallying or something. Absolute joke. I know it's a totally different kettle of fish but I've played up front on my own in an absolutely wank team with a clueless manager, and it's ****ing frustrating. Sure his attitude hasn't been great but he's being asked to chase ****ty, hopeful long balls and we're creating nothing for him. Nearly ****ing Halloween and I don't think he's gone through on goal once under Hodgson. Not once. We could have the real Ronaldo in his prime up front and he'd look wank.

Spot on. He has no support whatsoever. Where are the attacking players who can make space for him and play 1-2's with him? Torres looks a much bigger threat when Ngog is on the pitch to occupy a defender or two with his speed and movement.

What is worse is that Roy's making Torres the scapegoat. Galling.

By my recollection he hasn't been given one properly crafted opportunity - and only a handful of half chances and sighters.

He is frustrated and annoyed and part of me feels that he blames Carragher and/or Gerrard for helping oust Benitez.

I agree that the service to Torres has been shocking and the tactics are isolating him but he has been a shadow of the player we all know him to be. Everything about his game is off and his attitude and demeanor is one of a guy who just has given up, although he is most certainly not alone in his poxy form. I think because he's world class we expect that much more from him. I'll be shocked if he is still here in January.

P.S. That fact we have no recognized wide man of any sorts which means zero service coming in from wide areas is glaring and at this stage laughable. these positions should have been addressed, ****ing school boy stuff. Still no excuse for Torres to not even be able to control the ball.
