Of course he knows how we feel, and of course he knows he is getting sacked. He is just holding out for his £3 mill. He won't walk by himself, he is not THAT stupid.

It would seem he is so fcuking arrogant that he clearly does not give a flying fcuk what we think.. He more or less said so..when he said if people cannot see we are playing good football then they do not understand the game..(words to that effect) ..Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostOK, Roy is delusional and arrogant, does he not have any idea how the fans view him?
He is totally one dimensional, and has completely lost the plot.. The stress of managing a big club has put him over the edge.. He cannot take it, he certainly doesn't understand how to manage one.. inept, incompedent and in complete denial more like...

Yeah Roy...they were also the same people who thought they could make four times their 'investment' on LFC....**** happens."I also believe my appointment was made after a lot of consideration, after looking at all the alternatives, and I was regarded by the team who made the decision as the best man for the job. I am happy about that and I am happy for that to carry on that way."

I know your are not being antagonistic and I do see your point. But the reality is that these multi million pound earning spoilt brats are major assets and it is only natural that they rightly are wrongly are going to have some influence on decisions.
I also think that Purslow/Broughton exploited the disaffected players to get Rafa out to assist the sale process.

Problem solved.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That's pure guesswork though, isn't it? I've seen nothing of note to suggest that.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostI know your are not being antagonistic and I do see your point. If we're going to put two and two (and two and two and...) together then I think far more plausible is the idea that there was a lack of unity and hence a power vacuum at the top of the club. The owners owned but RBS had a controlling veto, Purslow was in place but had failed to deliver his primary job, Broughton came in but his responsibility was for the sale, Rafa was in a weak position thanks to the poor league placing and clearly had a major personality clash with Purslow.
In that situation senior players were useful allies for anyone wanting to make a powerplay and that's what I think happened..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

jesus wept
talks too much, a simple "HE IS NOT FOR SALE" would have done
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted Wayne Rooney's desire to leave Manchester United could mean his star striker Fernando Torres is targeted by their arch-rivals.
"I think I'd have to say we'd cross that bridge when we come to it," said Hodgson when asked about the threat of United possibly trying to sign Torres.
"I am pretty sure when a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, Manchester United will be in a position to target an awful lot of players around the world.
"I don't think Fernando Torres would be the only player they will be targeting or [we would be] the only club worried their star striker is going to be a target.
"They will have the opportunity to replace him with many star strikers around the world, so all I can say is I am not naive to the situation.
"I am not naive enough to think there is no danger we will ever lose a player like Fernando Torres.
"I can only hope we won't and I will make certain I do everything in my power to keep him happy at the club, help him improve his current form and to get him playing for Liverpool as he has in the past."
