He got a game against Chelsea...he may get a game against Wigan too...but i doubt he'll play week in, week out.

And if we sign another RB, he'll probably get more games at his preferred centre back position.

The lads got a future, but at the moment he is still inexperienced...lets not forget that was his first PL start (or so i read). If that doesn't mean that Roy can class him as "inexperienced" then i don't know what does.

But surely he needs games to get experience, I also think he could turn out to be a very effective right back, very good at defending and he often surprises me going forward.

Strange reference to Rafa here, while claiming he's always believed in Lucas. That's why you allegedly tried to flog him in the summer, signed Poulsen and then preferred the Danish disaster, is it Roy?!

Nice reference to our bad players too

Hodgson also had words of encouragement for Lucas Leiva, the much-criticised Brazilian who produced arguably his best display in a Liverpool shirt by helping the home side dominate Chelsea’s midfield.

“Lucas has been strong mentally and he needs to be because he is a good footballer, like many of the other players who are getting stick or will get stick,” said Hodgson.

“We don’t have that many bad players here but it is a big arena to play in and people expect a lot from players.

“Where Lucas has been strong is to put the criticism he has been receiving over the last couple of years behind him and get out and show he is a very good player.

“I’ve always believed in him and to be fair my predecessor never doubted him, playing him on a regular basis, so he didn’t give the criticism any credence either.”

Having disposed of the champions and league leaders, Liverpool face three of the bottom four in the next 10 days with trips to Wigan Athletic and Stoke City followed by a home clash with West Ham United.

First up is tomorrow’s visit to the DW Stadium, and Hodgson has urged his players not to take their return to form for granted after notching four successive victories.

“We have to be very careful,” said the 63-year-old.

“We have to get our feet back on the ground very quickly after the Chelsea victory.

“We now have to make sure any praise does not affect our work. We have to realise we are capable of performances like the one against Chelsea but we are also capable of performances like the one against Blackpool when we were beaten 2-1.

“We have to try to get rid of one of those performances and keep the other.

“But we have four good wins behind us and let’s hope we can get at least one win in the next two games as our form away from home has not been good traditionally this year.”

Yes, read that this morning and said, WTF? That's why he's never ever going to go down well with me.
          Are we winning?

Do we actually know there was any truth in the sale rumours though? It didn't seem to have the evidence which the Babel saga did for example.

Yeah I mean the rumours about us dumping Insua and spending £5 million on PFK proved unfounded didnt they

As did loaning out / selling Aquilani and signing Poulsen and letting Cavalieri go on a free and spending £2.5 million on Jones

I see the bad players are only bad when we are not very good......

Or maybe he means the only Bad players are the ones we sign in previous januarys as he said before..

Still, mr Jones certainly doesn't seem like an upgrade.

The backtracking does look him look very foolish, but rather that than see him stick to his guns, persevere with Poulsen and moan about the lack of quality in the side.
