Thanjk you.

But again Cragi the high tempo and intensity has to come also from your attacking players
We never saw that from Voronin ever and Babel and Riera are enigmas at best
I agree with your senitments on the situation just not that we had the personnel
As I said earlier if we had someone like Garcia then yes I would be all for it but not those 3 they are ****e
I just read an article that compares the relative records of Houllier / Benitez and Hodgson over the first competitive 18 games.
Now you could argue that Rafa had more difficult games qualifying for the Champions league than Hodgson and Houllier with the Europa/uefa cup, but it is interesting, and this is before the chelsea match.
I think GDP has been unfairly picked on in this thread. He doesn't play with stickle bricks or Lego.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
As i said mate, that's fair enough but i dont think Rafa particularly saw the argument or agreed with the sentiment even, so if he'd had better than Keane, Riera, Babel, Voronin etc on the bench, i still doubt he would've taken off a DM and put on a striker, regardless. He had far too much emphatic belief in the system.
Keane had gone so I really dont think he comes into it too much
Its hard to tell what he would or wouldnt have done in different circumstances
Lets take it to the extreme, if he had one of Messi, Maradona, John Barnes and Kenny Dalglish available on the bench you think he'd have still kept two holding midfielders on?
Its clear he didnt have faith in the players he had on the bench and frankly even though I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying I'd also echo Rafa's judgement....
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
If he had Messi, Maradona, Barnes or Dalglish, and they were sat on the bench, that would be foolishness of a different variety.
But in fairness, you cant just pick players like that and say 'if he had them' - hardly any managers have those quality of players, but that doesnt mean you just give up and say 'either i have a world beater on the bench or im not going to increase my attacking threat on the pitch' - that's just ****ing stupid.
And the players he DID have on the bench, were his own signings, so at some stage, if he had no faith in them, a mistake had been made on his part.

Thats taking it to the extreme but say we had better players than Voro****, Rearrase and Spuzzbab
I'm not too sure he wouldnt have changed things
Even if he had someone in the Garcia mould he might have we just dont know
The fact that they were his signings is a whole different argument

If Rafa would have taken off Masch then our fullbacks wouldn't been able to attack as much as they did. Johnson and Insua would have had to stay back more. Both of them are better attacking than defending so it suits the team better to play with two defensive midfielders.
A winger isn't always better for the system to be more attacking than a fullback.
