I think Sunderland yesterday also put our Chelsea result into some perspective..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Another dig at RafaSo now we know. Anaemic, weak and devoid of options, Liverpool might have players who can look good in the glamour contests but they don’t have a squad capable of finding the consistency required to compete – you might even say it is Liverpool’s worst squad of the Premier League era.
Now that claim is not made lightly, certainly when you consider the honours that a few men have collected include the World Cup, the European Championship, the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and other valuable trinkets.
We don't have that bad squad. It is the manager that is using a squad that is built to play a high pressing attacking game in a laughable way, a very defensive game.
Use the strengths of the squad and it won't be any problem. We have seen that when we attack. When Meireles is moved into the middle, the few times Agger played as a central defender, when Johnson is allowed to play an attacking game and so on.
How good good would Barcelona be if they had Hodgson as manager using his tactics?Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

this ones for Rowan specifically
Seriously, ask yourself a few questions...
Did you want Benitez gone?
Did you think that would be best for the club?
Do you think we are better off now than last season?
Do you see us finishing better than 7th this season under the current manager?
Answer yes to one or more of these and its a questionably, a bad judgement call..... answer yes to all four and you've fell for the media myth's , hook line and sinker
Fact is, Liverpool Football Club had never been in a worse position EVER to look for a new manager in the summer of 2010. Everybody knew October was D-Day for the ownership saga, but we didn't know which way it would go.
If they had kept Benitez in place until then it would have allowed the club to move on no matter what happened in court.
NESV win out - new regime new manager etc
H&G win out - new financial strategy new manager etc
October was the only time the club should have even considered Benitez's future - by then we would know if last season was a one-off or not and the whole club could be overhauled in one go. Its called strategic planning.
What we got was a load of whingers who were too wrapped up in the modern game to see we
a) had a good manager who had put us back on the map, and b) that of fthe field, the club was beyond screwed and would only ever end up with what we now have.
Allardyce / Curbishley / Hodgson. Its not hindsight, its just having the nous to see it.
Now, some argue that if they wanted Benitez out, it doesn't tally that they wanted Hodgson in. But if you were stupid to not be able to look one step ahead to ask yourself what would happen next and not see the Allardyce / Curbishley / Hodgson option as being the only viable one then you are/were deluded
as a fanbase ... we've reaped what we've sewn
The Geordie quip may seem close to the bone
but thats what a large portion of our fanbase had become in the summer and it gives me no pleasure whatsoever in writing
Just giving a few home truths on it , thats all

WTF **** are you on about and who the **** is 'graig'?Originally posted by MosRay View PostCraig, you think everything is ''Bollocks'' unless it comes out of your mouth....
But in all seriousness there are so many rumours doing the rounds now, most tend to be more or less saying the same thing that being Roy's tenature might just be about to end, or very near to ending; ''No smoke without fire'', or so they say Graig, or am I talking Bollocks too
Oh and is this for real?
This was taken from an artical in one of the daily papers, regarding Hodgson.
He has never liked his travels - in his 105 away league games since 1980 with Bristol City, Blackburn, Fulham and Liverpool he has won only 13 times and managed just 35 draws.
I knew his away recored was **** but that is unbelievable, what the fcuk is he doing at a club like ours.. Safe hands ....do me a favour.
When i said i think it's bollocks, i was talking about Henry requesting that roy resigns - what do your stats have to do with that? I'd love it to be true

I did hear he may have taken a job in an Arab country but I'm sure he'd have an escape clause if a premiership club came knocking.
We need him or someone with a great track record now!!! not tomorrow N O W !!!!!
Sums it up for me. No thanks to MON Neil.

If we didn't have someone superior or at least his equal lined up, we should have kept hold of him to give him a shot at putting last season right. Instead we'vee ended up with Roy Hodgson. We'll probably have a caretaker manager in soon, and a new manager in the Summer. 4 managers in the space of a year - as many as we've had in 20 years!K ris90210

Roy Hodgson shrugs off calls for Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish
Nov 15 2010
by James Pearce, Liverpool Echo
Comment (1)Recommend
ROY HODGSON insisted he’s not concerned about his future as he shrugged off supporters’ chants for Kenny Dalglish in the wake of Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke City.
A section of away fans, who want Hodgson replaced as manager by the Anfield legend, responded to the poor performance by chanting Dalglish’s name at the end of a desperately disappointing night at the Britannia Stadium.
Hodgson had to put up with similar dissent towards the end of last month’s home reverse against Blackpool. However, the experienced manager, who had led Liverpool to victory over Chelsea six days earlier, insists fans were simply voicing their frustration after seeing the club’s six-game unbeaten run come to an end.
“I don’t know that kind of chanting helps anybody,” he said.
“You don’t deal with it, do you, when they are chanting the name of other people. The fans can chant for whoever they want and it will be up to the club to decide what they want to do.
“There is nothing I can do about it, and I can only continue to do the best job I can do under these circumstances, and if the club decide they want to give the job to somebody else, then I’ll have to accept that, if that day comes.
“I can’t get upset every time the fans chant someone else’s name, and further more, we have got a lot of fans, we have got millions and millions of fans. Maybe the travelling fans are just showing their frustration because they have lost, and they are entitled to do that.
“Fans make their frustrations felt every time we lose a game, but unfortunately they may have to do that a few more times this season, because I can’t see us going through the rest of the season winning every single game.”
Goals from Ricardo Fuller and Kenwyne Jones consigned the Reds to their fifth league defeat of the season and they had Lucas Leiva dismissed for a second yellow card late on. It leaves Hodgson’s side in 11th place – six points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City – ahead of next Saturday’s meeting with lowly West Ham at Anfield.
Liverpool rarely threatened at Stoke but Hodgson denied there was a lack of attacking intent.
“You have to get hold of the ball first,” he said. “So often it was hit high towards our penalty area, we were winning challenges and then under pressure we were knocking balls forward. It was very difficult to get a situation where we had enough controlled possession but we had a few chances.
“When you come to Stoke you know you are in for a battle whoever you are. We did our best to deal with it and their first goal was a bit unfortunate. If we had been less creative Pepe (Reina) would have kicked the ball as far down field as he possibly could, not thrown it to Paul Konchesky and try to build from the back.
“They pressurised Paul well, from the ensuing back pass Pepe couldn’t get his kick away and they scored from the long throw which ensued.”
Hodgson insists his side are not back to square one and believes Saturday was just a blip.
“I don’t see why it should give us enormous reason to doubt what we are doing or doubt what we are capable of doing,” he said.

Not to mention teams pressuring our weak link at the back, it's like playing footy with your friends, if someone in the other team is uncomfortable with the ball, he will be pressured all day.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostAnd his **** tactics. If we weren't that deep, pepe would have had the space and time to kick it further or built an attack.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

But what would be better (another) crap British manager or a foreigner with limited English?Originally posted by Lecter View PostWe have to look abroad we have no choice (the British candidates are crap)
I'm not forgetting Istanbul, but our league form was pretty poor in Benitez first season.
On a number of subsequent occasions he underlined the language problem - not because he couldn't speak English as he patently could but the fact that you need a decent grasp of a language (ie the nuances not the text book stuff) to effectively get your message across.
Looking at the likes of Capello and Juande Ramos I can't help feeling he had a pretty good point.
Personally if we are to salvage this season, I think it limits us to foreigners with a strong grasp of English such as those like Rijkaard who have been brought up with it as second language as opposed to those that haven't.
I'm really not sure that any old foreigner, even one with a decent CV is necessarily what's needed right now.

Especially someone pitching up now when we are wank and having to contend with not only learning a new language but also with having an almost instant impact on the team. I'd go for the King until the summer and use the time to carefully select a manager for our future.
