Reports are starting to come in that Frank Rijkaard is almost certain to replace Roy Hodgson as the next Liverpool manager.

Money has flooded in to some bookies in recent days and now William Hill go massive odds on that Rijkaard will be named as the next manager at Anfield.

Money forces prices down and there is no way that Hills would have such short odds unless significant money had been placed on Rijkaard, add this to the comments from Rijkaard’s agent about managing Liverpool and some reports in the Dutch media that meetings have already taken place and you have a scenario building that has the writing on the wall for current manager Roy Hodgson.

Another factor is that the new owners will be loathe to give a manager money to spend in the January transfer window if they are going to let him go and despite improved performances in recent weeks Liverpool still find themselves stuck mid table.

The end game for Hodgson now looks to be in play and with the bookies, media and agents all more or less stating that Rijkaard is to be the next Liverpool manager it does appear that it is now just a matter of time.

That implies that Hodgson will still be around in January, (and will probably only go in the summer) but Frank Rijkaard isn't in a job at the moment, so if he's the man we want why wait?? If Rijkaard came in he wouldn't be judged on this season, but it would give him a decent amount of time to settle in, assess the squad and decide what we need and how we'll play.
