You're obviously right about the fans being in the best position to judge. I agree with you. But it's a fans level of passion which also makes it hard not to make decisions on impulse.
We ALL want Roy out. Of course we do. But at any cost? No, I don't think so. If the 'right' man is not available till the summer, and the 'right' caretaker is not available, then we just have to ride this season out.
Personally speaking, I think the new owners have behaved impeccably since they arrived.
I sort of agree with that comment, but in fact they hav'nt actually done anything. I guess Jan will say things, but I'm in 2 minds I want money spent on the players but I don't want the joker to spend it. So I guess I will moan if they do and moan if they don't (unless of course the player or players that come in are quality but so far the buys by Bodgson have been a failure). It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

January will obviously give us an inkling as to what they'll be like in terms of the transfer market, but they shouldn't really be judged on that front until September 1st next year.Originally posted by malg View Post[/B]

When you say they haven't done anything, I would disagree. They have done the following:
- Began the process of restructuring the board. Purslow has gone (many people see that as a huge positive), Ayre has been retained. We have a new chairman. We're in the process of looking for a CEO.
- Appointed Damien Comolli. Obviously question marks over whether this will work. But it is a bold move. And one that shows they are serious about implementing their own strategy and vision. They have given us an insight into what that will be: a focus on producing young players. Following the Arsenal model.
- They have interacted with a number of fan groups and have conducted themselves well. They seem to have learned from the mistakes of Hicks and Gillett - they haven't once used the words, soccer or franchise. They have also refrained from making any outlandish promises (spade in the ground, snoogy doogy etc.)
- With regards to a new stadium. They are investigating the possibility of re-developing Anfield, or building someone new. This is obviously going on behind the scenes. All seems very sensible to me.
- As I've said a few times now, I really like the fact that they are conducting their business behind closed doors. Who knows what their true feelings are on Roy Hodgson? None of us, truly. And that's EXACTLY how it should be.
They've been here practically 5 min. So far, so good.Last edited by kris90210; 10-12-10, 11:56 AM.K ris90210

Does this means Hodgson is taking full responsibility for signing Poulsen & Konchesky?Originally posted by Arn View PostFrom RAWK.....

Looks that way and that it was his decision to loan out Aquilani and Insua.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostDoes this means Hodgson is taking full responsibility for signing Poulsen & Konchesky?

Hodgson praises shining lights
Maxi Rodriguez and Lucas have been hailed by Roy Hodgson as the symbols of Liverpool's new-found confidence.
Both players appeared to have blossomed in recent weeks after making tentative starts to their respective Liverpool careers.
Lucas is now in his third season at Anfield and for the most part has never been a particular crowd favourite at the club.
Rodriquez was held in equal contempt, but now seems to have a place on the left of midfield that is allowing him to flourish, much to the delight of Hodgson.
"People have not spoken much about Maxi, but he has been a revelation," the Liverpool manager said.
"He is a bit of an unsung hero at the moment, he's not getting a lot of credit, but he's doing a great job at the moment.
"He has taken on board the work we have tried to do and embraced the role I have given him and interpreted it so well both offensively and defensively.
"Suggestions that he goes missing in a game are very harsh and I can produce statistics to prove he doesn't go missing.
"His positional play is very good, his technical ability is very good, and at the moment, with three goals he's right up there."
Rodriguez arrived from Atletico Madrid in January and scored just once between then and May, but he now has three goals in his last seven matches.
Perhaps it is the form of Lucas that has most impressed the fans. In his three years at the club, he had shown hardly any of his potential that had him identified as one of Brazil's bright talents.
Yet towards the end of the last season he showed glimpses and this year his influence has mushroomed.
"Lucas is working hard on the tactical side of his game and working hard on the shape of the team," added Hodgson.
"He is a very intelligent player, and I think it is very much that he is happy in his role. He knows very much what we are looking for from him and feels he can deliver it.
"On top of that he has that extra bit of confidence which being selected for Brazil brings - confidence for footballers is a vital ingredient."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Liverpool FC boss Roy Hodgson holding on to Champions League belief

Roy Hodgson believes that Liverpool can secure a top four finish this season if they can continue to replicate their recent performances.
Seven points separate the Reds from the final Champions League qualification place Manchester City currently occupy after losing just two of their previous six games in the Barclays Premier League, signalling a halt to their early season freefall.
Although Hodgson acknowledges the enormity of the pressure both he and Liverpool placed upon themselves earlier in the campaign, he remains confident of continuing the upturn in results required to qualify for Europe's premier club competition next season.
"I'd like to think that if we can continue to play as well as we've played recently that we can get closer," he said.
"But we've given ourselves an enormous catch-up and I prefer to take it one batch of games at a time at least and see where that brings us.
"I was hoping that by the turnaround we'd be at least in the top half of the table. We are at the moment."
Tomorrow's trip to Newcastle comes on the back of a difficult few days for the hosts after owner Mike Ashley restarted the managerial revolving door at St James Park by sacking Chris Hughton in favour of Alan Pardew.
It is also Liverpool's penultimate domestic fixture before a hectic Christmas schedule which will see them play four games in 11 days, and Hodgson is hopeful that the points gulf will be far shorter by the time they take on Wolves on December 29.
He added: "I hope we will be in four games' time and then I'm hoping we won't be so far away from the top four that a good second half of the season will give us a good chance to get in there.
"But when you are next to bottom after seven games, you've given yourself an enormous handicap. There's only 38 games in a season and seven is quite a lot of them."
