Roy Hodgson has conceded that Liverpool's away form is leaving them in real danger of finishing outside the top half of the Barclays Premier League table.
Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Newcastle continued a poor run of results on the road this season whilst damaging their credentials of vying for a Champions League place.
And Hodgson has warned that it may not be the top four that is out of the realms of possibility for Liverpool come the end of May but also the top ten if their travel sickness is not banished.
“Our away form continues to be very, very poor and it's something we need to do something about," he admitted.
"If we'd played the whole of 90 minutes as we played the first 45 minutes maybe I wouldn't be as disappointed as I am.
“For a team that wants to be in the top half of the table, our away form is not good enough.”
He added: "I came into this job to try and win every game and I can't say it's harder or easier than I thought – I just need to keep working hard. It's the job I signed on to do.
“Do I wake up in the middle of the night often? You find me a football manager who's worthy of his sword, who doesn't wake up in middle of night after matches, and I'll give you a good headline.”

What's your point ? Shankly was clearly moving the club forward at that time.Originally posted by 5europeancups View Postbloody hell whoever was in charge in 1962 must have been terrible...
...Oh hang on...

Shankly was then given the job to manage Liverpool in December 1959. He immediately guided the team to successive third place finishes in his first two seasons at Anfield. He set about revolutionising the club, by introducing new training methods and monitoring players’ diets. Liverpool won the Division Two title in 1962, during a season in which the team scored 99 league goals. Ian Callaghan, Roger Hunt, and Ron Yeats were all pivotal to Liverpool’s success during this time.
