Danny, no-one's saying he's brilliant, but he's got guts and heart in spadefulls, and you don't always get that when you sign a player. As for committment...

Erik Meijer had more guts and desire than any Liverpool player I've ever seen play. Bug it didn't make him good enough.

Soto is deserving of his place in the starting line up at present. I think he's only made a few errors this year, such as Trabzonspur at home, I can't complain.

When Glen gets back there is an argument to keep Kyrgiakos in ahead of Carra. But I still think LFC need to be looking at signing a top class cb in the summer. For January I think we have more important needs.

Yes but Rangers fans are accustomed to a far higher standard of play than we are. I mean, the SPL League is famed for its quality.

I will add, just for debates sake, I think in Ryan Shawcross Stoke have a better version of the Greek. He's young, English and just like Soto a beat in the air.

Unlike Soto he also has decent pace and is good on the deck. Someone we should consider if we are looking at top English players for the team.

Kyrgiakos is a very good CB who lacks in pace, touch and mobility. He isnt '****' by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't think anyone has suggested the Greek can lead us to the title, just saying he was worth what we paid for him and is possibly our best option at cb right now.

As for Cahill, cracking player and can only get better. Good pace on him too. If I was comparing Soto to Shawcross I'd compare Cahill with Skrtel. Similar type players IMO, with Cahill looking the better.

Johnson I'm not a fan of tbh. Not bad, but nothing special for me. Goes to sleep at times and doesn't react fast enough to quick passing on the deck.

David weir is 40years old, half your age neil? I'm sure he's done well for rangers over the last couple of years. He's played against the likes of man utd n valencia recently no? Majid bougherra is supposed to be quite good too. I'm not a fan of scottish football and I almost hate rangers as much as I hate the scum,but you can't be dissing the rangers,they have hardly spent any money over the last 2-3 seasons and they are doing well in the champions league so far.

I can't see how at the age of nearly 31 years old he can get better.

Titus Bramble is great in the air and would win lots of headers but would i **** want him at LFC. Soto has been our best defender this season, but we are 3rd bottom too.
