I think Roy has made that many crazy interviews in his time here, you could believe almost anything that is attributed to him, correct or not.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hodgson probably threatened to fire him if he didnt. He sucks up to every manager which is why he's so 'well respected'

          Some of it happened.

There are so many spoof quotes and tweets and so on it's impossible to know what's true and what's not. The internet is eating itself and Shaggy is to blame.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Liverpool FC fury with England and Fabio Capello over Steven Gerrard injury

FABIO CAPELLO was the target of Liverpool’s anger last night after England were accused of reneging on an agreement on how long to play Steven Gerrard in the 2-1 defeat against France at Wembley.

Liverpool fitness chief Darren Burgess claims there was an agreement to play Gerrard for only an hour.

As it was the Liverpool captain limped off after 84 minutes after suffering a hamstring injury and he will undergo a scan today.

It prompted Burgess, Liverpool’s head of fitness and conditioning, to vent his anger on Twitter.

Burgess said: “Unbelievable from all associated with England and English FA with regard to Steven Gerrard’s injury. Completely ignored agreement and past history.”

Capello, however, insisted he played Gerrard for longer than the hour because Gareth Barry had an ankle problem and Rio Ferdinand had picked up a muscle problem.

Capello said: “We spoke with Steve and he said he would play one hour, but after Barry’s injury we had some problems. That was the reason he stayed on the pitch. If it’s possible, the players will play the time we agreed with the club. But Barry was really injured so we needed someone senior on the pitch because it was a really young team. He said he was good. We’re upset about what happened to Steve, of course.”

Capello admitted Liverpool had requested Gerrard not play more than an hour.

He said: “They asked that he can play one hour if it’s possible. They can’t decide how long a player plays with the national team. If it’s possible, he’d have played an hour.

“I understand why they’re upset and I’m also upset. The problem is that, when you play this game on Wednesday after a lot of Premier League, Europa League or Champions League games, it’s possible there might be an injury for a player.

“The Premier League, every time, is a tough league for the players.”

Gerrard and Fernando Torres will undergo tests at Melwood today to assess their chances of facing West Ham United this weekend

Torres failed to start Spain’s glamour meeting with Portugal in Lisbon, having strained his ankle ligaments in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke City.

Liverpool’s medical staff have been in constant contact with their Spanish counterparts since he reported for international duty and the club hoped that they would take a pragmatic view with regards how they used Torres.

Reds boss Roy Hodgson will be desperate his dynamic duo are available for Saturday’s tussle with Avram Grant’s men, particularly as there are still concerns whether Dirk Kuyt will be involved.

Kuyt withdrew from the Holland squad that played Turkey in Amsterdam last night after complaining about pain in the ankle he damaged playing for the World Cup finalists five weeks ago.

Hodgson is already likely to be without Joe Cole, who has still not fully recovered from the hamstring problem he picked up in the 1-0 win at Bolton on October 31, while Martin Skrtel is also struggling with knee and ankle trouble.

Our midfield is going to be somewhat of a joke on Sat.

What's all that about though? Why is he glad that Gerrard got booed and is now injured? Is he just being a **** or am I missing something?

It is staggering that our physio has more balls and fight than our manager.

I think he was saying that the England fans booed at the end and it really wasnt worth Gerrard trying so hard for England in a meaningless friendly. Harsh if you ask me.

He injured himself stretching to make a last ditch tackle near the end of the match.

I thought he was saying that he’s glad Gerrard got injured so he would have to walk off to a chorus of boo’s.
