Starting to think that Arn is actually Roman Abramovich, still not quite over Stevie turning them down.

Gerrard leaves England game injured

Could have been a blessing in disguise.
Raul got a chance in his favoured position and shined, would love to see him in the middle with Gerrard behind Torres when Stevie is back.
Hodgson will no doubt stick him back on the wing, but once he's gone the new manager may do it. Lol.
Don't get me wrong, never good when our players are injured, but trying to see the positive.

Thing is, when Gerrard is playing, the other players always have the option of thinking "no worries, stevie will do it for us" - and we always rely on him. When he isnt playing, they obviously dont have that option, and have to step up to the plate themselves....
It's wrong to always rely on him - but that isnt HIS fault, it's their's and the manager's.
The notion that we should sell Gerrard (as i heard some numpty on the radio suggest), is laughable - when you have a standout class player, you dont sell him - you bring in other class players around him, so the team will no longer have to rely on him all the time.

Not actually seen the match yet, only what people have posted (I have it downloaded to watch later when the kids in bed and the wife won't be nagging) but does he look to have what's needed to take over that Alonso link between DM and Stevie? Although probably hard to judge from a match v WHU at the mo.
That's been our weakest link for a long time, and the knock on effect to confidence. If we get that back (assuming Roy let's 'em play properly, which is a big if) I think we'll be on our way.
Far from our only issue, but the main one.

Not if the stand out player got to much power off the pitch. Then you sell him so the boss can be the boss. Like Man U do. That is the main reason to why Fergie is still around.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThing is, when Gerrard is playing, the other players always have the option of thinking "no worries, stevie will do it for us" - and we always rely on him. Keep him and the manager can't build the team the way he want or sell him and let the manager build his team.

FFS.Originally posted by vonk View PostAnd please tell us how exactly he did that? Are you conveniently forgetting that he was injured a lot of last season? That couldn't possibly have been a reason for some poor matches could it?
According to you it was completely one mans fault that we finished 7th last season and that man was Steven Gerrard.
A moment of weakness.. I'm back to ignoring you.
I didn't talk about how he played last season. If you had bothered to read my posts then you would understand if you had at least half a brain that I talked about the months before and during the world cup when a simple I will stay would have meant that the club knew that he would stay.
Now he acted like he was more than willing to leave if the right offer arrived.Stop the cyberhate

The main reason to why we finished fourth last season will always be the Gerrard sulking, G&H, some strange decisions by Rafa and a lot of injuries.
If the one that don't have even half a brain and is to lazy to read my posts and instead imagine up things so he can have a go then your sir really are an idiot.
Can you please imagine up more things to have a go
or will you actually start to understand English one day? It's difficult if you only have half a brain but sometime a miracle happen.

And this is something you have no knowledge about, but are just assuming. Brilliant.Originally posted by Arn View PostNot if the stand out player got to much power off the pitch. Then you sell him so the boss can be the boss. Like Man U do. That is the main reason to why Fergie is still around.

And 'Like Man Utd' do is a laughable comparison to make - the same Man Utd who tend to have about 5 £20m-£30m players in their squad?
Easy to sell a world class player when you have several others and are given the money to buy more.
Your suggestion that Gerrard is 'the boss', is utterly utterly laughable.

If you want to discuss things then you at least expect that you know what the subject is and read the posts to understand the point.
It is very easy if you don't act like a lazy git.

I haven't ****ed a moose by the way. They are simply to big. I'm not that strong that I would be able to hold it down when the shock sets in.Stop the cyberhate
