Can't see Real Madrid coming in for Andy no matter how good a season he has.Originally posted by Camble View PostExactly.
When there was hype around Carroll being shipped out, he turns round and publicly declares that a loan option could be an option.
I know that he will have already spoke to AC about this and it wouldn't have come as a shock when he heard him, however it is hardly going to lift his morale and confidence knowing that every Tom, D*ck and Harry knows.
Now, it looks as if he's staying, he could have an amazing season an then decide to f*ck us off at the end. It's happened before with Xabi, if players don't feel loved they'll always have that thought at the back of their mind.
i suppose the point has more releveance to Agger but I really think the performance of the team and how much he plays are the key factors in him staying/going if we don't want to sell him."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

If that turns out to be true then it will make me wank to a kindling messOriginally posted by Fivex View PostI've just got this sneaking feeling that this is all a "s m o k e s c r e e n" to give the impression that we're skinter than we are whilst we negotiate the impending batch of signings.

Hardly, they're in the same position as us (Fulham, Everton etc)Originally posted by Camble View PostI'm hardly a serial poster, but I want to extend my concern over Rodgers' approach to this.
I think it was a catastrophic error in him saying that "every player has their price". Our rivals must be pis*ing themselves, whilst our players know that if a tempting offer comes in they could be shipped out without even wanting to.
I thought the whole point of LFC was to do dealings in/out in private, yet every 2 minutes he's commenting.

I don't do Twitter yet but I couldn't find any Liverpool pics on her page. There is one where she's watching a home movie with Coleen Rooney and Stewie Downing on the screen thoughOriginally posted by Lee View PostCould be complete bull**** but

I wonder what gives you that impression as our history says otherwiseOriginally posted by Fivex View PostI've just got this sneaking feeling that this is all a "s m o k e s c r e e n" to give the impression that we're skinter than we are whilst we negotiate the impending batch of signings.
We get 50m we get bummed for 35m
We say we have money don't need to sell then get bummed for another 55m last summer
Even when we were supposed to be skint we bought Glen and Aquilani for a total of 40m
The only real time we were ever skint was when we paid 2m for The Big Greek
Which club would sell us players on the cheap if we bank 15m for Carroll and 20m for Agger.

**** that is a lot of money for a defender, he is quality and I'm hoping he won't be sold but that is a lot of money.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Times extract.
Liverpool have rejected two bids from City for the Denmark international, the second valuing Agger at about £20 million. But they are prepared to do business if their asking price is met, with Rodgers hoping to use the proceeds from any sale to reinvest in his squad.
Liverpool have made it clear to Brian Marwood, City’s chief football administration officer, that they are seeking a fee of about £27 million for Agger. That valuation may appear unrealistic given the 27-year-old’s patchy fitness record, but Liverpool regard Agger as one of Europe’s best defenders and want a fee that reflects that status.
Rodgers claimed that Paris Saint- Germain’s recent signing of Thiago Silva has established the market rate for central defenders. “Silva has left AC Milan for PSG for £40 million,” he said. “He [Agger] is one of the leading players in European football, so it is going to be a big valuation. Every player has a price and top centre halves are at a premium.”
Asked if Liverpool had received offers from City, Rodgers said: “Yes, but nowhere near the valuation of what the player is worth. You can only consider something like that if it is going to benefit you.
“Of course, you might lose a top player but if it benefits you going forward, and you can make two or three steps because of it, you may have to consider it. But we don’t want to sell him, so unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer that makes you look at it and think you can benefit in one or two other areas, there is no way I want to lose one of my best players.
“Daniel is a top player and any manager will tell you that they don’t want to lose their best players. But I suppose at every club, every player has a price.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding him, Agger has been named in the Liverpool squad for tonight’s Europa League qualifier against Gomel at Anfield, with Rodgers confident that he will not be distracted either by City’s interest or his own club’s willingness to sacrifice the player.
“Daniel and I have had a number of conversations so he knows where I am at, he knows where the club are at and he doesn’t want to leave which is great,” Rodgers said. “In my first conversation with Daniel at the Euros he made that quite clear. He loves the club, loves the supporters, so that was music to my ears. But we’ll see.”

This has been our worst Olympics for a while tbh. Our swimmers normally bag 5-6 gold this time only 1. Our rowers 3-4 gold this time none.Originally posted by Vermilion View Posthaha, just noticed the

I did mean that as a genuine compliment btw.
i'm not wrong though am i, for the size of the population and the amount of winning sportsmen and women you have/ or had ?
I've always thought like that anyway, but in a good way as i say, that you did better than you should compared to other countries and their size.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
