I don't think we will sell him. But if we did, it has to be for over 30m and the player i would have liked to replace him is now at spurs.
I love agger and we must offer him a new contract ASAP.

be a real shame to lose daniel agger but we're talking about city here. They have no sense at all when it comes to paying money for players they want. Lescott 24m, jo 20m, milner 24m, kolarov 19m.

what the 13m and 16m bids show is that everyone knows that we are a soft touch when it comes to negotiation and can be pushed around. City's first bid should have been closer to 20m and touching 28m by the time negotiations end.

im not advocating the sale of agger by any means. im just trying to bring a sense of normality back to proceedings. it had reached the point where selling agger meant we would slip back deeper into mid table / we'd become a mid table team with no ambition / FSG were reminding us of H&G etc... Teams sell theyre best players all the time - i used arsneal due to the vast number of top top players they have sold and from where they were 3-4 years ago they are still there now - top 4. manure sold jap staam at the top of his game. they also sold beckham. it happens and there is (As ive said) no evidence at all to suggest we'll end up worse off as a team - no one man is bigger than the club remember. in the past we've blown it with the signings of downing, carroll, konchesky et al but we've also hit gold with suarez, johnson, shelvey for example and not one person can convince me that if if if if if agger is sold it wont work out for the best.

The ball is in our court.

He said during the Euro's that he is happy and he would like to resign.

I hope the man in charge of our negotiations will not mess this one up.

          He needs to stay.

You will not find technically skilled CB like Agger in a long time.

I always wondered why the FSG wanted to follow the arsenal model.
Did they not do any research that over the past 3 yrs they've had no option but to sell their top quality players, as these players no longer want to play for a club lacking in ambition.
You cannot have a strong XI of 20 yr olds... Or in their case 16yr olds upwards. Those kids learn nothing unless their are plenty of snr bodies around them.

FSG have yet to spend a significant amount on transfers since they took over, and 100K is not a significant amount when you look at the fact they cleared the books of a lot of deadwood squad players and sold some players right up till deadline day that weren't replaced at the time.

All those kids we see playing now were part of the Rafa/Kenny legacy. Why did we buy so many? Cos they were cheap, but these kids are still not quite ready.. So are they aware of how long their rebuilding model is going to take?

The fact they can't sell Cole or Aqua scares me.
Aqua is one that really grates me as he hasn't been interested in playing for us since his 1st yr of a few appearances, yet every year we put him on loan, he comes back for pre-season, Lfc supporters wet their pants that he's back and bobs your uncle he's back out on loan before the season kicks off.

Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours

What do you class as a significant amount?
I'd say a £110 Million was pretty significant...

The problem is how the money was spent and they have every right to be cautious now..

Sadly there is only one player there who I would be disappointed to lose (Suarez unsurprisingly) and there are some I would be happy to sell on.

The thing about Agger if we for example refuse any offer upto £25million and keep the player then he spends more time out injured your gonna get calls of we should have sold him? it's a tricky one to call

Well first I'll exclude Carroll & Suarez as they were bought the window previous to the 100K window. Also, I don't believe they paid much for Carroll & Suarez as we pretty much know the Torres sale bankrolled them.
I rate Henderson so I'm happy with that buy as he's many yrs ahead of him.
Downing I was never happy with, before or after we bid for him.
Bellers was a free, I'm still happy with Enrique, was happy when we got Adam - not happy anymore tho. Haven't seen enough of Doni to rate him either, but he looked quite good when he stepped in for Pepe's ban.

I don't think 100K is significant nowadys, especially when you're looking for very good players. It also pales into significance when your competitors are spending close to double of that.
It started with Chelsea blowing us out the water under Mourinho, taking our targets from us to taking our important players from us over the past 2 yrs (ben, cnut & Meireles). Spurs overtook us in the last 3 yrs and now City have overtaken us and are hounding our players to make the situation worse.

So thats why I feel as if these owners are not stumping up the cash, just because you got burnt on one or two signings doesn't mean you close shop - especially in the business world surely?

They need to realise to get where we want to get you have to spend the cash to get the right players.
