You're probably right. I just hope it doesn't come to that, but I don't have a good feeling this time around.
Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the goal of arriving safely in a prettily preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways in a shower of gravel and party shards, thoroughly used, utterly exhausted, and loudly proclaiming: "F*** ME, that was BRILLIANT!"

Funny that, as I have a better feeling this time around than I did when FSG announced the extension to Dalglish's tenure.
      One tit for another.

fair play to them for making a change to try and rectify their mistake, but the previous regime wasted tens of millions of pounds. that's the real problem here.
This is the only post that should be quoted when all this bollocks about net spend comes up for the umpteenth time.

Yes that is a strong argument, but seeing as it did not really work out and the club does not have much cash shouldn't they dip into their own coffers now to ensure we stay competitive at the top end of the table? Its not effing rocket science either is it?

What's to say that for the right player they won't dip into their own pockets? However, we can't just buy buy buy, we have to remove the dross at the same time, otherwise we'd have wage bills coming out of our ears and would probably fall foul of the FFP ****. Hence the need to remove Carroll from the books to allow another striker in. It's not cos we can't afford to buy, it's because we have to keep our operating costs within a certain limit.

Very true. Just take one look at Rangers for evidence. (I know there are differences, but the principle is there)

FFP is a farce, a myth. Nothing will ever happen there. We have got rid of Maxi, Kuyt, Aquilani (nearly) so wages should not be a problem should they?

Sick of excuses. Time to stand up and be counted FSG. Put up or sell up.

Who would they sell to though?

We've learnt before it's not as easy as we'd like to find some mega rich family or whatever who will pump endless money into the club.

There are potentially huge investors around the world. We are still a big attraction and I see absolutely no reason why we cannot have owners to compete with the likes of Chelsea, City and PSG.

China is the direction I would be looking as well. Massive potential, we are the near perfect fit for Chinese investment.

Possibly, but it's also a bit of a risky fantasy in my opinion.

The current owners, whilst they aren't going to bankroll us to the point where we can compete with City and Chelsea etc (in pure money terms anyway), I also don't think that we'd ever get into financial trouble with them.

If it was so easy to find a rich group like you say, then why didn't it happen before? That's not to say it wouldn't in the future, but I just think it's easier said than done.

So why didn't they come in for us at a time when we were up for sale? You're living in a dream world mate

The only reason that the City owners went for them - a medium-sized club with zero global presence - is that they already had a new stadium.

I'm convinced our lot will do the minimum, like extend Anfield, after which we'll be a much more attractive proposition to potential buyers. Then they'll cash in
