Agger and Skrtel? Not sure about that. On paper they always seemed a natural pair but I don't think it's ever really worked out like that.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I actually think Agger, Skrtel and Sakho are three solid CBs - Sakho is only 23, has all the tools and will only get better, Skrtel has plenty going for him and so does Agger. But there isn't a partnership between them. That's a massive problem.
We have no leadership at the back. In their own right they are good defenders. Sakho done ok for first season. But as s unit it just doesnt function properly. Not sure which defenders are out there now who are leaders

Agger and Skrtel doesn't seem the solution right now, and probably won't be in the future. Rodgers seems fixed on them not being partnered as well as Sakho and Agger not being.

I still think Agger is by far our best defender, most composed and best positional skills. We are much more secure with him in the team than without. Unfortunatly I think his time here is done, especially considering that he will never feature more than backup under Rodgers.

If he get's a decent offer he will be off for sure.

I think part of the reason Sakho is prefered is that Agger is unreliable in terms of fitness. Building around him and then having to chop and change every time he has an injury is problematic. Injuries can happen to every player, but Agger is out 2-3 months every year on average.

I'd understand it if Rodgers signed a CB and shipped him off, but that CB needs to be able to partner both Sakho and Skrtel, and he needs to offer us the composure and leadership that Agger brings to the table when he's in the team. It's not a coincidence we keep clean sheets with him and can't do it without him.

I think Toure & Agger was our best partnership. I think both have been poor individually at times this season though.
            Forwards.......

It's funny but this is probably true.

Toure was a beast at the start of the season.

Wasn't Sakho captain at PSG? You'd think he'd be more of a leader if so- could be a first season/language thing

Everyone bar Agger has looked a clown next to Skrtel. I say Skrtel because he's been the one constant since United.

Our issue at CB is that everyone of them bar Agger, are aggressors. They all want to be the one winning the ball. One of them needs to be the cover defender and organise the line. Whilst Agger suits this role, he's also built of glass and is a bit of a soft touch, so he doesn't work either.

Time for Danny & Kolo to go, bring back Illori & Wisdom, and sign a top drawer centre back.

Yep, he's lightyears ahead of the rest, dont think Sakho has done much wrong to be fair and I really like him, he was running the game from centre half for an hour yesterday but if we keep loads of clean sheets with 1 player and pretty much none without him theres clearly something we are missing when he doesn't play.

Agger/Toure, Agger/Carra, Agger/Skrtel theres been a constant theme under Rodgers, if he plays we dont concede many. Skrtel/Toure, Skrtel/Sakho etc we concede loads.

Was even the same under Kenny, won 4 in a row all to nil v Wolves, Fulham, Stoke and Chelsea when he played for example, he missed Wigan and West Ham afterwards, we drew 1, lost 1 and conceded 4 goals in the two games.

I can understand Rodgers not wanting to change the team in recent weeks but hopefully he has a healthy pre season and is ready to go from the off in August, I dont think he'll be sold.

With him : 15 games 8 clean sheets, 15 conceded
Without him : 22 games, 2 clean sheets, 34 conceded.

The difference he makes to us is mindblowing.

I think Sahko's problem it's just the way he is with the ball, it gives off the false impression that he's dodgy when in reality he's pretty solid.

He gave it away once yesterday as far as I could see. I really like him and think our defensive issues are not just due to him and Skrtel's apparent incompatibility.

i really thought agger was going last year and then he picked up an injury that would have prevented any move. i think brendan has had him bubble wrapped so he is fit for selling.

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think Agger and Johnson may be gone. As we've said all along they aren't earning their exorbitant wages any more sadly.

Johnson is probably more likely to stay than Agger as he's a 1st choice, but I wouldn't be surprised to see both sold.

If we bring in another midfielder too I think even Lucas might be off. He looks shot physically
