Agger is quality and just shows that Bodgson knows **** all about talent. He didn't get a look in with that fool in charge.

You'd need to bring in 2 CB's IMO then if we got rid of Agger, we need someone at the back of better quality than we have with Skrtel, Carra, the greek - might be a step to far this summer IMOOriginally posted by Marsh View Posttbh i would sell him aswell
however i would want to replace him with someone who has a similar style without the injuries
not wobert huth

The thing is that Hodge wanted to sell him as he didn't think he was good enough as CB and not due to his injury record. He always put Carra and Skrtel ahead of him when he was healthy and pretty much only utilized him when we were short LB.Originally posted by Marsh View Posttbh i would sell him aswell

Tough call should he be sold or not as he is so injury susceptible.
He is so much better than anybody we have in same position and we play completely differently with composure and sense of belief when he is in the line up but the fact he's injury prone and not very reliable from that point of view certainly creates the problem.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I can't remember the exact quote, but didn't he (Hodgson) basically say he didn't want defenders who play the ball out from the back.Originally posted by Mostar View PostThe thing is that Hodge wanted to sell him as he didn't think he was good enough as CB and not due to his injury record. the thing is he is that good that he needs replacing. If he was mediocre it wouldnt matter so much. He does make a huge difference and it would be good to have that for the majority of the season but Agger wont ever be fit for that many games. Also his value will peak or have peaked so in terms of value if we can get a fit ball playing defender then its a sensible decision. I agree not without risk but then nothing is without risk

ok but he question i ask is that we have a very good idea he will have these issues next season and the season after etc.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postit's a tough one really, he's top quality but injury prone - either way we need a top centre back coming in this summer - I'd look to keep him for the coming season with a new cb coming in, if he has the same issues again then move him on and replace him.
if we are keeping him because we think he will get less injury prone then we will be dissapointed.
my point on selling him is about his value. and we need to replace with someone of the same or better quality in terms of defending and bringing the ball out.

if we can find someone of the same quality and bring in another CB without killing our budget due to other area's needing improving then I wouldn't be against it completely I do worry about changing too much at once though.Originally posted by Marsh View Postok but he question i ask is that we have a very good idea he will have these issues next season and the season after etc.

I don't think if Kenny stays on as manager we'll see him being moved on though
