When fit Agger is one of the best defenders in the country.
He is the most complete centre back i've seen in a liverpool shirt for a long time, fast enough,strong,good in the air, exceptional at playing the ball forward or making forward runs. but most importantly he is a great leader of the backline, there is no need for carra's organisational ability now because Agger (who has benefited from being captain of Denmark) is a true leader.

Take nothing away from Skrtel though because as others have pointed out hes been in sensational form also.

Great partnership. Skrtel coming back to play at such a high standard after his knee injury bodes well for Lucas as well - if he can do it, Lucas should be ok, though there may be a period of readjustment.

Agger though - my favourite defender in the league, and thats not just rose tinted glasses. I genuinely can't think of another defender who can glide forward like him. We just need a couple of those long rangers to fly in again
