Two former LFC players re Agger:

    Nikola Sarić ‏@NSaric91

@NikoSaricFans I hope not. He's happy at liverpool but in football you never know what will happen...

    @MartinHansen_1

@KingdomSA18 @AccioMaria i'm sure he wants to stay, but sometimes it's not always your choice .

I really hope Liverpool can keep Agger , so important for the team.

The owners are going to be having some input though surely.

I haven't mentioned anything about a DOF I stated that they will be involved in the process in some way or another, it's their money at the end of the day not Brendan Rodgers'.

We'd all be very naive to think otherwise.

A statement fromfsg would be selling agger putting some more in and going for someone lime hummels.

Selling agger because hes injury prone is one thing but replacing him with ashley williams is another. If we keep buying swansea players we will finish eleventh or thereabouts like they did. Allen is ok but I definitely dont want us to sign williams. What a message that would send to the fans. Whereas another quality replacement would would appease us.

The only time the owner's have expressed a 'vision' for the team was at Rodger's press conference when Tom Werner made reference to "relentless, attacking football". Do you honestly think they are now going on to dictate how this 'vision' should be brought about by specifying which players should be sold/signed?

They may have some input on transfers in terms of giving/refusing approval due to costs etc, which is fair enough, but the idea that they will be identifying the personnel to bring their 'vision' to fruition is spectacularly ridiculous.

I mentioned Rodger's refusal to work under their preferred DoF/continental structure to underline the point that he only took the job under the proviso that he'd be in complete control, and to think that he would then be dictated to by relative football non-entities like John Henry & Co is too silly for words.

I don't have a problem with a loan deal, but we need to get it right, if it's a loan with a view to buying the player we need to agree a fee in advance, so we don't get screwed on the price if the player does well. Similarly we don't want to commit to buying them at the end of the deal if they aren't worth the money. Given our history with loan deals I don't have the confidence we'd do this correctly.

Liverpool have told Manchester City that defender Daniel Agger, 27, will cost at least £22m after City made an informal inquiry for the Dane.

I dont think its the selling him thats the real issue, its the fact we will end up with a **** sub-par replacement. We are trying to improve so selling your best players is not the way to do that...

If we get £25m and bring in a top top centre half then thats fine. But if we get that money and buy a swansea centre half.... thats going backwards. There is a reason City and Barca want him.... hes ****ing brilliant.

I know lets whore around a player that has always said he has been proud to pull on the shirt and as a matter of principle wouldn't play for another premiership club.

I have no problem selling agger as long as the fee is right and its rodgers decision.

you sell high not low and look at the sales of players like viera, henry, rvn, torres to show that sometimes, its better to sell and move on with new plans than to hold on out of romanticism.

fsg have to fully back rodgers. fsg backed kenny and he blew it. if rodgers does likewise then he too will be sacked. but whilst he's the boss, he has to take us forward as he sees fit.

I think it'll take rodgers a couple of seasons to get his imprint on the side fully. we'll prob see gerrard and carra retiring, maybe pepe also gone before rodgers own side are truly firing on all cylinders.

as painful as it is folks, we're in transition again... if we sell agger for 20+mill and replace him for say 10 (we could find a new hyypia) then whats not to enjoy. We should also remember agger only has a 50% playing rate due to injuries. he's had a good couple of years now, he's probably due a leg break or something...
