Disturbing news re Agger AND Skrtel. Not saying it will deffo happen but we need to be prepared.

@DaveLFC87 I was told tonight that both are off. Financial and not football decision. It's not ITK just what was said.

If this is true the owners better be prepared for a massive backlash

    Nonsense

I wouldn't have thought we'd have played Agger last night if we were looking to flog him off? An injury last night & that could have ended that plan.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Might have been an act of defiance against the owners' efforts to get him sold.

            Agger is going no where.

Is it not a bit risky for a man employed by the club to be leaking information he has heard regardless of how truthful it is?

Who knows. But it's him anyway.

They're all in on it, to make us look skint. Then we'll pull off a couple of mega-scoops late in the window

My issue is, Rodgers made it clear when he came in that he wanted control. If the owners are now attempting to force him to sell players, or even taken the matter out of his hands, would he stand for that?

So far though he hasn't sold anyone he didn't want to. Bellamy aside, I still think he is in control.

If they have told him you have to sell to buy, he still has the control. He could keep Agger. He just wouldn't have the money to invest elsewhere.

I was merely speculating on the basis of the speculative Twitter stuff a few posts up. That suggested they were off etc. Not that I really believe it. Just chatting you know.

I know, its more of a general point about people thinking Rodgers is being told what to do.

Well, BR clearly said last night Agger is a player he wants to keep.

It would be a really stupid move by Rodgers if he let Agger go and i think he knows that, why give away your starting CB, not only that, a CB that can keep a cool head and put in a firm challenge when he wants, a 2 weeks before the start of the season?

In all honesty, the team we fielded last night can be a top 4 challenger, maybe put a different player than downing out the wing, but he seems to have got his act together the last 2 matches, albeit its against Gomel but still, its a start.

Every time we start looking good we do something really stupid that sets us back. If we sell either Agger or Skrtel I will lose all faith in the owners.
The risk of selling does not outweigh the financial benefit. Stinks of off field issues.
