Some rare good news, with Agger and injuries - well, you fear the worst.

Such a total warrior for the cause, we are going to need him.

Will be interesting to see if Coates gets promoted, because Carras style of footy is the total antithesis of Rodgers. I can see Carra finishing this season and becoming a first team coach for next.

I'm hoping Coates gets the nod. Although he wasn't in the squad on Sunday.
        Oh I don't know.

It's quite weird how Coates was picked to start ahead of Carra v City (quite rightly), yet when Skrtel & Agger have been available it's always Carra on the bench and Coates in the stand.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Think Carra edges him in terms of positional play and organisation. But yeah, he should be given more practice, possibly alongside Carra if Rodgers still values Carra as it doesn't make sense.

              Same here.

I hope Rodgers plays him over Carra.

This is exactly type of situation where he needs to be given the starting role as he deserves the chance.

He's been with us for me than a year now and it is time for him to be considered as a ligitimate 3rd choice CB.

Is it confirmed that it's only bruising? Guardian saying that he had a scan on his knee and they're awaiting results.

No official confirmation yet but my understanding is that they have to wait for swelling to go down before they can assess him properly.

That said, early indications, if they are true, are it is not major type of injury that will keep him sidelines for months.

Most speculations are 2-4 weeks max.

Hope all this is correct, after what went against us yesterday, to lose Agger as well as Kelly to long term injury would have been the piss take of all piss takes.

Not that it would have surprised me.

**** i hope BR is a lucky manager, as well as a good one..

I suppose if we're subbing on a back it's either to preserve a lead or an injury and Rodgers probably values Carragher's experience/leadership in that situation.

Carragher hasn't done that badly when he's been asked to play, he's far more willing to play balls along the ground that resorting to his classic hoof but I'd still be giving Coates gametime. He has to get it at some time.

Even if Agger is available in a week, I don't think we'd risk shoving him back in so quickly.

Really? For the small amount he's played, I've thought he'd been pretty poor. Sooner he moves into a coaching role, the better.
