I suspect he might have an underlying medical problem, which he kind of hints at in those quotes, and a last year or two playing back home is about as much his body will cope with.

Such a shame as injuries have robbed him and us an outstanding talent.

Liverpool have today confirmed that defender Daniel Agger has sealed a permanent return to his former team, Brondby.

"Liverpool have been such a big part of my life and my family's lives for so long, that leaving is extremely difficult," Agger told Liverpoolfc.com.

"I wouldn't leave here to go anywhere else and that has been proven by my actions in recent seasons - I have turned down many offers to move to other Premier League and European clubs.

"The club itself is very special and I shall remain a supporter for the rest of my life. I regard every game I played at Anfield as a privilege."

Massive respect to Dagger, great player and he really bought in to LFC. Pleased for him he is going home. Sad as it is, it is always nice to read quotes like these and those of Xabi. YNWA...

Really sad to see him go. He was a class act who seemed to totally understand Liverpool. A shame about the injuries. Hopefully Danny goes on the have a successful career at home in Denmark.

        I love Sarah

It's sad to see him go, but it's probably the best decision for all parties. You can see the effect injury has had on him. He's significantly slower than he was 18 months ago. Definitely became one of my favourite players. What a left foot. That goal against West Ham was magic.

One of my favourite players. Loved the way he played the game. Sorry to see him go

Think his better years were well behind him and was overrated by many IMO. Still, 3m to brondby sounds ridiculous

Brondby need money more than we do and he has a very shrewd head on his shoulders. I have a sneaky feeling he'll make a big money move at the end of this season. I wish him the best though, he was a warrior for us

Sad to see him go. When signed I was hoping for Hansen mk2. He never quite hit the heights I hoped for.

Should have accepted the large bids last summer.

Try thinking of agger naked. That might do it for you.

The Agger-smash a few year back on the traitor was another highlight.
