Liverpool youngster Dani Pacheco is attracting a host of interest from a number of La Liga clubs according to the Times.
The 19-year-old continues to play a marginal role at Anfield despite signing a new four-year contract on the back of his prolific showing at the European Under-19 Championship last summer, and according to the aforementioned report, Espanyol and Malaga amongst others are plotting a January swoop for the precocious young Spaniard.
Speculation in Spain suggests Pacheco is growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of first-team football under Roy Hodgson, having not featured for the club since their elimination from the Carling Cup at the hands of Northampton Town back in September.
The player is believed to be highly rated by certain members of Liverpool’s coaching staff, but when pressed on his claims for further opportunities, Roy Hodgson suggested the forward had plenty to do to in order to cement a more prominent role at the club.
The Liverpool manager told the Times: “He’s had moments when he’s looked good, others when not quite so,
“He’s working on his game. He featured in that unfortunate Northampton game. It was a great opportunity for those outside the first 13 or 14 to really show me, ‘You should be thinking of me.’
“When will he get a chance again? Probably in one of these games in Europe and who knows, maybe he will burst back on to the scene, but it’s very difficult to do that in a reserve game.”
Along with Malaga and fourth placed Espanyol, Real Sociedad are also rumoured to be keen on signing the player either on loan or permanently in January.
