We don't want our young stars ending up the in the same crocked way as Fabregas do we?
Fabregas is now getting injury after injury. If we play our young up and coming stars then it is a big risk that they in four five years will end up in the same way.
When it comes down to young players then you MUST think long term and not short term.
Look at Barcelona and what they do. They let their young players get a few games a season, not more than that. It is only when the body can cope they get to play week in week out if you are not a super talent like Messi. Usually that means 20-21 years old.Stop the cyberhate

You don't know much about football and injuries do you? You should be married to a foot specialist like I'm, then you would be told how dangerous it is to play a player to much to early.Originally posted by Craig_H View Post

Are you saying you're married to one or are you asking Craig to marry you?Originally posted by Arn View PostYou don't know much about football and injuries do you? You should be married to a foot fetishist like me then you would be told how dangerous it is to play a player to much to early.
Either way
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

You're right though Arn. It can be also argued that Owen's career veered into mediocrity because of the recurring injuries he got by the age the age of 23/24, which can be attributed to his precocious career (he started at 16 if I remember correctly) Only the very very best can sustain that level for their whole career. Gerrard is one of them, his consistency has been phenomenal and he's been a regular from what age, 19 or 20?Are we winning?

Wenger is an excellent manager but he isn't exactly thinking long term when it comes down to young players.
He is only thinking about what is best for the team now and not what is the best for the young players by the look of it.
I said three four years ago that Fabregas would end up in the same crocked way as so many other young star players that played to much to early.
It is very dangerous to do that when the body is still growing. Gerrard had big problems with that at the start of his career.
It is a difference if it isn't a star player because he wouldn't be hacked down as often. Special treatment as it is normally called.Stop the cyberhate

Originally posted by Bender View PostDani Pacheco has been urged by Roy Hodgson to prove he is good enough to force his way into Liverpool's first team plans.
The Spanish starlet has not featured since the humiliating Carling Cup exit to lowly Northampton Town in September amidst reports of growing interest from his homeland with Malaga and RCD Espanyol both keen to offer him a chance of regular senior action.
Pacheco, 19, joined Liverpool three years ago from Barcelona and, having impressed in this summer's European Under-19 Championships, scored for the reserves against Everton on Tuesday - leaving the Anfield faithful at a loss as to why he cannot command a regular place.
But Hodgson insists that the striker will have to continue to work hard if he is to build on his 11 appearances in all competitions this season, and hinted that he may be offered a chance to shine in the Europa League if he applies himself.
"He's had moments when he's looked good, others when not quite so," said Hodgson.
"He's working on his game. He featured in the unfortunate Northampton game.
"It was a great opportunity for those outside the first 13 or 14 to really show me, 'You should be thinking of me.'
"When will he get his chance again? Probably in one of these games in Europe, who knows, may he will burst back onto the scene, but it is very difficult to do that in a reserve game."
Absolutely nothing wrong with what Roy has said.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I'm not sure that there is any convincing evidence for this all players who start young and play a lot get broken any more than there is for other players. For every Michael Owen there is a Ryan Giggs.
