Saw Ayala play for Hull against Preston(i think it was) in a Friday night game -was live on Sky and he was very good throughout.Originally posted by Imy View PostTime for Wilson and Kelly to step up.
Anyone know how Ayala is getting on at Hull?
Won every tackle that had to be made, got some vital blocks in and looked assured on the ball. It was only one game but he was impressive.
Haven't really seen much of him apart from that.

Because most Arsenal supporters are cunts: they turn on their own players and have songs where they're slating them.Originally posted by Rudo View PostWhy Arsenal?
But aye, disgraceful comment in fairness.
Supporters turned on Hyypia in his last couple of years at Liverpool and we now wish we still had him. It happened with Insua. The same is happening with Carragher. People fail to realise that the team as a whole is playing ****.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Interesting to see how GJ plays without Carra's guiding bollicking in his ear. I've thought for a couple of seasons that Carra's legs were gone and that he's plan A hoof it and plan B hoof it style were a negative influence on the team. But having him in the team now when we're in transition is important. He is a student of the game, a clever player and a communicator (not sure how effective sceaming at people is). For Roy I think he's vital as he gets what system he's trying to implement and he acts as his general on the pitch.
In better times I'd say we could do without an aging Carra, now I'm not so sure. Big chance for others to show their worth. Soto has been great this season here's hoping he keeps it up.*************************

Of course they did! On this forum - how can you forget! People were slating him for being slow, error prone etc. But he was never quick. It was only after his performance against United at Old Toilet that people started to realise it was a tragedy he was leaving. What's happening with Carragher is exactly what happened with Hyypia but it's more vicous due to Carra's influence/status at LFC. Carra is our best defender still, like it or not and you have people hoping he gets injured - that's a disgrace.Originally posted by Reece View PostDid they?
It's a only a matter of time before it happens with Gerrard. And supporters FFS have already started to turn on Torres.

Sad to see any of our players injured but he is not our best defender.Originally posted by saj View PostOf course they did! On this forum - how can you forget! In terms of current form both Skrtel and Soto are better and Agger is the best defender we have overall.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I was one of those criticising Hyypia and I stand by that, as a 4th choice he was great, experienced, brilliant role model etc... but you don't win anything with a 35/36 year old playing more than 10 games a season in our team of that time.
We pressed high up with attacking full backs and that left Sami exposed, under Houllier we played a lot deeper with more defensive full back Sami was a bit younger and he was immense but time stands still for no-one.
IMO the 4th choice CB should be someone like Wilson or Kelly not a Hyypia or a Kyriakos as well as they have done and did for small pockets of gamesThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
