There was one passage of play where Reina played the ball to Konchesky but we were sitting so deep that he had trouble passing the ball and had to resort to hoofing it up. We were leading 2-0 when that happened, a bit symptomatic of our tactics under Dodgson.

Their midfield is awful but Albrighton and Downing could hurt us. I can see them scoring at least once if they start pressing.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostVilla terrible in midfield, being dominated with ease by Meireles and Lucas. I expected this tbh. There in turmoil and effected heavily by injuries.
Should be enough to take the pressure of Roy, again. No doubt it will be two steps forward and two steps back for LFC in the coming weeks. Still think we'll finish between 6th and 10th.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I know, but we seemed to do it so early, it is has made the game very dull and I don't think Villa have the confidence or the ability to be a danger if we just pushed up a little.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBit unfair IMO.
We're not on a long run of wins, we're not full of confidence and we've hardly looked watertight at the back.
It's understandable that we may sit off a little and try to consolidate our position, at least to make sure we take a two-goal lead into the break.

SorryOriginally posted by NigelLG View PostI didn't mean we played badly, just stating our approach under Hodgson. Normally, a team winning 2-0 at home, should have the majority of the possession.
wasn't having a go at you, it's just that it has been suggested on here before that more possession equals playing better but that is just not the case, it just means you've had the ball more.

They have to get the ball in advanced areas to do that. I guess if we sit deeper and allow them back in it they'll be starting in advanced positions though.Originally posted by Mostar View PostTheir midfield is awful but Albrighton and Downing could hurt us. Wigan and Stoke should have been 6 points and we ended up with 1. Let's just take each game as it comes and hope January brings us some good players that improve the first team.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe need to go an win at Newcastle. Fulham at home after that, which should be a banker.
3 wins on the bounce, if it happens, would make quite a difference.Forwards.......
