He's 20 and he's playing very well. If you're not going to play him at 20 then might as well sell him. How often do we complain that this or that player isnt being given a chance and we expect to just sell each one thats considered good? We've got one in Kelly, whos playing good, whos playing good against good teams. We SHOULD be playing him, not letting him rot in the reserves.

Is it? Thanks for reading my mind and telling me "what i'm getting at"

My take is that Kelly is currently playing better than Carra so he gets picked ahead of him (when both are fit).
When Kelly hits the inevitable blip and starts to struggle then you take him out of the team, if Carra replaces him then performs well enough to keep his place then no problem that is the correct decision.
My problem is when Carra (or any other player bar Torres) constently plays week in week out when their form and performance is having a detrimental effect on the side.
Torres whether we like it or not is world class and capable of turning games in a split second, we wouldn't have beaten Chelsea without him for example and while it doesn't excuse his subsiquent performances you have to give strikers and goal scorers more leeway because they win you games. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Fine, then give me your own words on what you mean since you're going to be like that. What exactly do good young players who arent given time in the first team do in the reserves. Aside from get frustrated and look elsewhere for first team football.Originally posted by Craig_H View Post

If this poll is representative of the fans view in the grand scheme of things, then it's pretty certain to state that his popularity took a massive knock. 28% wanting rid of him is pretty high IMO. I personally wouldn't be disappointed in seeing the back of him. He's had a fantastic career with us but sadly, I don't think he's got it in him anymore, then I can't see him being a coach here. Are we winning?

Yup = going more the way of Barnes and Ince rather than Kenny. Sorry Jamie.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostIf this poll is representative of the fans view in the grand scheme of things, then it's pretty certain to state that his popularity took a massive knock. 28% wanting rid of him is pretty high IMO. Best out and out defender we have and his organizational skills are streets ahead of any of the defense line we have. LFC legend thats legs have well and truly gone, althoughvery valuable squad player to have, defintely should be phased out of the first team next season into more of a bit part role, so 100% keep as a squad player.
Getting rid of him is ridiculous, IMO its Rafa supporters who feel Carra was behind him getting the boot, who hold the majority of this "get rid of him' opinion. The guy deserves more respect than what he is getting from these LFC fans he has put his heart on the line time after time over the years, ****ing disgrace IMO, some people are very fickle and have short memories.Last edited by danperkins; 21-12-10, 02:15 PM.
