I'm not sureOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostIt seems the system will have to be completely over with before they will consider a change in the immediate future.
If we're lucky, they'll wait until we lose yet again in the league and get further away from the top 5, and then maybe consider firing Roy once we're also out the FA Cup. Lucky us.
They have not checked any of the rumours or reports in the press
IF they were biding their time to complete their process I would imagine they would have made some comment
The fact all options are open (caretaker, permanent manager) indicates to me that they are considering things now probably on a game by game basisBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Seriously doubt Allardyce would have got the job mateOriginally posted by wildman View PostTheres also the fact a different manager could have us in a worse position

I am sure the process will be accelerated with any subsequent poor performances & results
There is no way I can see Hodgson surviving past the next few games I suppose they are weighing up whether it's worth the risk appointing Daglsih or go for a safer bet and pick a long term candidate

It's not madness but never mind.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostComparing us to Blackburn is madness.
Sam Allardyce was not deeply unpopular at Blackburn. They didn't like the football but appreciated the job he was doing.
However, despite what we all say on here, no one would let Hodgson go and bring in just anybody. But we do have Dalglish available who isn't inexperienced like Keen.
And unlike Hodgson, Allardyce was meeting expectations at Blackburn. In fact, he had them in mid table which is as good as it gets for them..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Do any of you own businesses? Or are a manager who hires people?
Have you ever walked into a job as manager and seen that the whole place needs to be rebuilt from top to bottom because your predecessor was incompetent? That you need to fix the systems, hire new people, etc? I have, and it's a mind-numbing process. You're trying to fix what's wrong, and half the people there are below par, yet they're the ones you have to ask for advice about why Process X is being done this way, and why Employees A and B are doing certain tasks when it looks like they should be doing something else. And hiring people? First you need to find replacements who are an upgrade. Then you need to convince them to leave their current cushy position (if they're great, their company is taking good care of them) and put faith in you, the new person who is trying to fix the circus you just took over. Not easy...
To fix all that takes a lot longer than two months -- some of you people need to get a grip. It takes at least a year or two to bail out a Titanic like that.
What hardly anyone here is contemplating here is that, for as poor as Roy is doing, there might be parts of LFC behind close doors that are even worse. And that THOSE things need fixing faster than the Roy debacle. Henry has alluded to such a mess with a couple of comments he's made.
Yes, we want Roy out. But this club went through a nuclear meltdown. To expect it all fixed and tidy in two months is ridiculous. FSG are very good sports owners. They continue to do a phenomenal job with the Red Sox and have brought them two titles, and are one of the 2 favorites to win another in 2011. Give them a chance for gosh sakes. If LFC looks to be in a shambles 6 months from now, sound the sirens. But my god it's been TWO months! Be realistic.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Would you rather the owners (who knew next to nothing about the business of football when they took over) make naive decisions themselves just because it would give the impression they are doing something? They need to understand themselves the impact of the decisions they are making and takes a little time as well and something they are likely to want to do privately. I want us to have long term success and stability and to rebuild it takes time.Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Oh come of it. This is a football club, a sports business. I highly doubt it's anything like 99% of people have come across in their time, no matter what type of high flyer they are.Originally posted by Lecter View PostNicked off RAWK

Despite of all problems behind closed doors, the only way this company will get sorted is by getting things right on the pitch. No doubt things that us fans don't see need to come together. More merchandise is needed to be shifted, more seats need to be built and more sponsorships sorted. More money into the club means better chance of long term success. All this can be understood.
But for all this to take off it needs one thing above all, a successfull team. Champions League football, titles won.
This year we had a seriously good chance of making 4th spot and I guess that is why me and so many others are pissed off. In any normal season I'd just be getting on with it and writing this season off. Even now I can't bring myself to do it and that's why I'm getting more pissed off by the day.
I can just see it now, we finally hammer the final nail into the coffin for this season, and that's when we make the managerial change, when we have no chance of success except a Europa Cup win.
------------------
Having said that, if we start next season out of Europe, it would likely give us a very good chance of getting back in the top 4, and maybe even having a crack at the title with no other distractions. Could even go all out for the domestic trophies as well.
with every cloud, etc....Forwards.......

But it doesn't have to take time. It can be done quicker.Originally posted by saveferris View PostWould you rather the owners (who knew next to nothing about the business of football when they took over) make naive decisions themselves just because it would give the impression they are doing something? People forget how hard it is to break into the top 4 because we've been in it for so long. Once you're out that can be it for years to come.
If we keep our star players after two abject seasons we'll be very blessed. I think the name Liverpool FC itself will be enough to attract some good players to supplement them in the short term.
I'm hoping all the players give NESV the summer to prove they mean business.Forwards.......
