Why not just say it? We need Rafa back. We simply can't afford to gamble right now. We need a manager that know the squad and the players. If we gamble then we really can get relegated.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostHodgson set us back so much with his **** signing and tactics that we need to replace his **** signings, redress team morale plus find the money to improve the squad. We never needed an overhaul at the beginning of the season, a stronger manager would have reinvested the Mascherano money more wisely (or even hung on to him) and we would have kicked on from there. The overhaul was Roy Hodgson; he's completely overhauled us into a mediocre team and we're looking straight at a relegation battle for the rest of the season.
There is simply more or less no chance that we will get relegated with Rafa in charge.
How long time do it take for a new manager to get the players to know his system? Can we afford to give him that time?
Of course the players may understand the new system very quickly but I would say that it is a much bigger risk that it will take two three months.
Rafa or Segura? That is the two only options IMO. The reason is that they know the squad and the players know their tactics.
Dalglish? I think that he has been out to long time. I think that he will get problems to handle all the big egos in the squad.Stop the cyberhate

I'm close to giving up on Glen Johnson now.
I've tried to defend him for as long as possible, but his positioning is just pathetic. It was the same under Rafa too, so it's not just Roy's fault.
The guy has HUGE potential, I was hoping he might learn to defend, and go the way of Ashley Cole, but to be honest I'm close to writing him off as a lost cause all together now. He just doesn't seem to have the brains to defend properly.

While I don't want him at LFC and the sooner he is replaced by either Kenny Dalglish or Rafa the better. The thing is though, Roy is under more pressure than any other manager in the premier league, he's also had a massive task in taking on the Liverpool side we now have and doing something with it in a very short space of time, we all knew this season was going to be similar to that of last season. He can't feel comfortable in the situation he is in and I know he will be gone if we fail to beat Man United on Sunday. I think we all have to be patient though, kicking out Roy is easy enough but who do you replace him with? and if they finish the season/ start next season poorly are we going to throw hate at them too?
Sometimes I think being a Liverpool supporter really means just that, yet so many fans are hating something about the club, be it the manager, the players or even Steven Gerrard, despite the fact he's the best footballer this club has seen in years. The Rafa hate was bad enough, now the Roy hate, why can't we all just be nice. Instead of '**** off Roy you cunt' can't we all just be like 'Roy would you please resign' or 'NESV, get us a new manager'.
Despite some of Roys rubbish press comments he's not a terrible man, he doesn't deserve the hate he's getting, he has just been thrown in the deep end and drowned. Now we have a dead man fish floating upside down in a pool managing our club. It's clearly not working for us but the thing is, it's not working for him either. He doesn't have the time or the support to do anything with our Liverpool side at the moment.
Anyway. Bring back Kenny FFS, so when haters gunna hate, I'm gunna kill them mutha fukkers.

Not as long as Purslow is still around. It would be impossible to keep me handcuffed if I saw him. He really is an egoistic maniac, isn't he?Originally posted by IN_RAFA_WE_TRUST View PostArn go and handcuff yourself to the shankly gates and demand that rafa is re-appointed as our manager.Stop the cyberhate

I disagree....we need to build a midfield with meireles and someone else, someone strong, hard in the tackle with a good engine...gerrard in behind torres, a pacy winger one side, joe cole or a pacy winger the other side........with lucas, maxi or kuyt, ngog, another striker being used as squad players.Originally posted by Rich View PostI pretty much agree with how you've called it. We need Meireles and Lucas to build a strong, mobile foundation with Gerrard in front with Torres
This isn't so much a criticism of those players....they are decent players and they will get plenty of games being rotated....but we will never compete at the top in my eyes until those players are improved on making ht efirst team better and the squad stronger.
For me, our first team has too many "squad" players, and our squad players aren't good enough to step up when needed.
If we went and bought what is now looking like the 5 or 6 first teamers required and picked a starting XI - making our bench something like
keeper
carragher
aurelio
lucas
maxi
cole
new striker
then we are getting somewhere.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

honestly I only think we have Gerrard, Torres, Reina, Agger if fit that are clearly good enough for CL footy. Carra one or two seasons more and Meireles looks interesting and are good enough for the top-4 flight as well as Cole given time. I have gotten to the point where I have to say that Johnson is not a good enough RB, if pushed forward he could be well good enough, but in his current position not really a rb for the top-4.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostOverhaul talk is well over the top.
Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard, Meireles, Kuyt, Cole, Torres are all plenty good enough. We have the bulk of a very good team, just need someone who knows how to utilise them and get the best from them.
We have some very good first team players and a few good squad players and from there a lot of players that does not provide us the depth needed.

Well Meireles is a decent buy from hodgson, but the two others have been quite awfull. But those 3 players of a squad around 30 players, is far from the explanation that we are where we are. The last 1½ season has set us back with a combination of poor ownership and some strange choice of players brought in. Last season we finished seventh, which is mediocre and unfortunatly we are continuing down the path started lasted season right now, with the bulk of the players also there last season.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostHodgson set us back so much with his **** signing and tactics that we need to replace his **** signings, redress team morale plus find the money to improve the squad.
