to get us back to challenging for things, i completely agree. Several players could leave too that aren't LFC standard, if we aim to challenge we must improve the first team and squad.

I do think that a new manager will provide the motivation that players lacked under Roy and it will make a difference and we will improve but without adding to the squad, i can't see us making any real waves.

      For the record:

Has any fan EVER - and I'm speaking to all of you - in their lifetime ever talked about 'not needing any more reinforcements, we're perfect'?

I don't think so, and I don't think any manager ever does either. Otherwise they might be called Dw_oy. [Mods: Could you turn off the 'Roy' ban **** now? It's ****ing annoying, I want to call him Dwwwwwwwwww oy!!! ]

        You're making a **** point.

All i'm saying is we need to stop blaming everything on Roy Hodgson's poor management, we also need to address the playing squad which is way short of what it should be in terms of quality and numbers.

Get rid of the likes of Johnson, Konchesky, Babel, Poulsen, Jovanovic and bring in some good footballers.

I'm sure come the summer, the owners will do the business.

The point is, a lot of the players played **** because of Hodgson's management.

9 of the squad guffed Man Utd 4-1. 8 of them beat Madrid 4-0. The bulk of it came 2nd.

They havent become bad players in 20 months.

i don't think that most fans don't understand that sacking roy was just the first big step in the right direction. a big step, an important step--but just one step along the journey.

You know, the thing is. You can bomb on all you want, but when has it ever happened in top flight top club football that so many players get bombed out and get replaced by 'The Business' players? It just doesn't ****ing happen. It's not a viable business strategy. We're not going to be getting rid of that lot in one fell swoop and replace them Championship Manager style with the bees knees of the business. It's not going to happen.

I think you are seriously underestimating the power of the manager and the management style and MOST IMPORTANTLY (Non-Championship-Manager-Hat-On) players have feelings, emotions and consciousness and confidence issues just as every other human being on the planet. When you've got money, it becomes a part of day to day runnings and you become unaware of it, because 'Money can't buy you love'. I think that's fair game? I think it's fair game that there might be a fair amount of players who are actually not in it for the money, they actually love to express their art and they love to do so freely under the guidance of a brilliant mentor who will make them an even better artist. You ever consider that?

I'm sure you'll also appreciate, that - in light of the aforementioned - certain players, such as Jovanovic, Johnson, et al might have certain personality traits that prohibit them from being the best artist they can be day in day out without the correct guidance. I think you really completely underestimate football if you don't take into account what the level of consciousness and belief in one's own ability can do with the level of ability one can achieve. The greatest artists out there know that if they produce to the best of their abilities in the ability that comes most natural to them and they are encouraged by their peers that their failings aren't their downfall and their natural abilities need to be encourage, honed and perfected, you will see that most of them will perform consistently to the best of their natural ability because they are relaxed, happy, and in love with their natural ability and not disheartened, weakend and suppressed by their failings.

I've just realised it's highly unlikely we'll see Raul on the right again.

I really hate reading this about still having x amount of players from then, because both of the players who aren't here from that win were among, if not, the best in the world for their position and were never replaced. I would have understood if from that starting team we lost Arbeloa and Kuyt or something, but when you loose Alonso and Mascherano you need to sign some serious talent or else the team will never recover, as it has never done.

not 100% convinced arbeloa has been replaced either.
