The two aimless dinks over the top also stick out, but he was the one trying to do something a bit different and high risk. Not a good game, but not that bad.
I dunno mate, 3 tackles he pulled out of and he hid for the whole game. Against the Mancs at Old Trafford is one of those games where you cannot hide, he was non existent and gave away so much possession with some awful balls forward. Talented player but in the premier league i still have my doubts.

IMO in a game where we got cheated & were up against it from the get go, Meireles is one of the only players from LFC that can't leave with his head held high. Should have a point to prove in the next game

Anyways lot of positive to take out of the game and hopefully we an push on, onwards and upwards.

I liked our shape before Gerrard went off. A bit like

      --------Lucas-------
      --------------------
      Meireles------Gerrard

Lots of pothibilitieth with that 3
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Thought Raul was a bit anonymous today, didnt really impose his authority on the game. Not one of his better days.

Dalglish has made that useless team play that good in less then a day. Behind by a dodgy penalty, and down a man for more then half the game, did well. This should silence the people who thought Dalglish would be out of touch with modern football. Should of had him as our manager from the start of the season.

LOL, man he **** a brick as soon as Fabio came steaming in, even before the two feet of Fabio were raised.
I've seen him bottle tackles before and it sickens me tbh.

In a match against them cunts you need every man going into tackles fully committed.

I thought Ferguson looked well pissed off after the game as well. I would be. 1 goal and 1 man up against your bitterest rivals on their big day and they nearly didn't do it. We could have nabbed one and made them look a bit daft.
              Really?

The whole match basically came down to one dive. If we hadn't been a goal down from that incorrect decision then would that lunge from an obviously frustrated Gerrard have happened? Berbatov should have been booked for diving and then it would have been a fair contest. In spite of the defeat I feel surprisingly upbeat - this was a very good performance to keep them at bay with ten men. We showed determination and spirit, very impressed with us today.

I said this the other day...
Was looking forward to this game until I saw Howard Webb was refereeing. I mean ****ing hell is there no one else who can do this.

That useless ****tard of a referee has been in charge of the last three games against United - why is that even allowed!
Knew it would turn out like this. Surely everyone else sees his bias refereeing. Going to be ****ed off if he's refereeing the game at Anfield in a few months...that would be four in a row.

I think we played okayish despite the penalty. Kelly done very well and I'm sure if Johnson started they would of scored 2 or 3 real goals. Liked Kenny's starting and really hope he has a go at Webb to the media!

If there's ever a way to lose thats it.

If we had come here with roy in charge we would have got tanked without ever putting up a fight. Today we showed fight, spirit and belief.

If Gerrard the spastic hadnt gotten himself sent off like a brainless **** then we might have taken something from this game because utd were there to be had. There's a lot of positives to take from here, aurelio, agger and skrtel all looked good. Kelly was immense and should play there against blackpool. Johnson should play on the right and kuyt on the left.

The main problem area is the position alongside lucas because meireles isnt good enough. He lost and bottled out of pretty much every challenge that was there. His passing wasnt precise enough and he is the reason that gerrard got himself sent off.

Granted our 30 year old club captain should have shown more sense, but when you see a team mate pull out of a challge like meireles did against raphael then it makes you mad. Im not using that as an excuse but it was the seed that started the gerrard tackle.

Lucas was spent at the end but still kept going and was our main man in midfield. The lad has taken some stick but has turned things around brilliantly. Not sure about shelvey - should play things simple instead of the hollywood option. He needs to work on his athleticism too.

But we gave it a proper go and kenny cannot ask for any more. Webb basically gave utd the game.

Kenny "The penalty kick, It's not a penalty"

We've got a manager who tells it like it is again

overall a good performance all things considered. We only lost by a penalty, that was a ****ing cheat, even after playing with 10 men for some 70 minutes.

Gerrards red card was fair enough IMO, it was stupid of him, and not the first nor the last time we will see him loose his head. It could have been a yellow, but it is equally fine with a red, it was an ugly tackle.

I am very happy to see us playing a bit of football again, and especially in the 15 minutes between the penalty and the red card. It was always going to be hard going from there, but we played the ball around reasonably well despite it. The defense looked much much better than under hodgson, and it actually included movement on the pitch again, as well as non-static lines. Well done to correct that from day one.

Now on to a positive result against blackpool and I will have a large part of my footballing spirit back again
