Love that from Paul Dalglish. Finally we get our balls back. Felt like we'd been castrated with Bodge in charge.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Btw, was Mike Kelly with the team today? Did anybody see him?

          Reporter:
Kenny, first of all, what does it feel like to be back?

          KK:
It's great to be back. More pleasant circumstances maybe, as regards the result, but you cant be anything but proud, with the support that the players got from the fans today and i think that their appreciation was reflected in the way they performed and the work they put in. I think they worked really really hard to try and get a result in very difficult circumstances. We've got to remain positive, although we're not going to get too much success losing 1-0, we've got to take positive things out of the game and the positive things for us was the way the players went about their job and the work they did. The commitment to their efforts on the pitch and their commitment to the football club.

          Reporter:
Bar those two moments that you'd want to forget, the penalty and Steven getting sent off, I would imagine that you thought that over the 90 minutes, your team pretty much matched United?

          KK:
Apart from the penalty that Ryan Giggs scored, i think they hit the post at the last minute, with a header when we were down to ten men, but other than that, I think Pepe Reina handled it. Somebody had a shot or toe-poke that they just picked up. Obviously second half they looked a bit more threatening, but I thought we did well. I thought Martin Kelly was as good as anyone on the pitch, i thought it was a great bonus for us to see him play. Fernando absolutely worked his socks off and obviously there's only so much a man's body can take, i had to take him off at the end to try and preserve him a wee bit, and throw David N'Gog on, but we couldnt have asked much more for effort and commitment from any of the players, i thought they were great the way they went about their job.

          Reporter:
Did you have any qualms about the two crucial decisions, Ken?

          KK:
Well, the penalty's a joke. The other one. I cant see that a red card, either. The penalty kick, we've seen the replay, unless they've changed the rules, it's just not a penalty.

          Reporter:
And it IS a Liverpool against Manchester United game, you expect challenges. I've heard it said that ten years ago, it would've been play on in that particular position. Has the game changed so much that it's now a red card?

          KK:
For Steven? Well it's funny, I was in the dressing room before the game, and I put the teamsheet in. I was talking to Mike Phelan, I said "You need to show me what to do, I've forgot what you're supposed to do". Somebody said "It's not changed that much" and i said "I thought it was a non-contact sport now" and Howard Webb said "Oh no no, it's not a non-contact sport" so.....maybe I was right.

          Reporter:
You mentioned Fernando there. Nobody's got a magic wand, but there's a confidence issue there that you're going to have to start rebuilding.

          KK:
Fernando Torres has got a magic wand. So we've got great ingredients to build on and it's upto us to get him going. He wants to do it, you can see he wants to do it. We'll get him going sooner, rather than later.

So good to have a manager saying all the right things.

Loved that comment re Torres at the end

The King just exudes class and such a sense of calm and belief. You hear him speak and you just think "things will be fine"

Man but how much do I not miss Hodgson...even with a loss today, the manner of defeat and attitude on the pitch is a weight off my shoulders. Play it again king Kenny!
I will always blame Moores and Parry.

The Holland international used his Twitter account to post a mocked-up picture of Webb wearing a United shirt, after the World Cup official awarded the home side a first-minute penalty and sent off Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard in Sunday's third-round tie at Old Trafford.

The Football Association confirmed that they would be looking into the matter, as Babel also wrote: "And they call him one of the best referees? That's a joke. SMH."

SMH is an abbreviation for "shaking my head" but the 24-year-old has since added: "My apology if they take my posted pic seriously. This is just an emotional reaction after losing an important game.

                    "Sorry Howard Webb."

Last January, Babel criticised former Reds manager Rafael Benitez on the social networking site, and he is not the first Liverpool player to court online controversy this weekend.

On Saturday, defender Glen Johnson, who missed Sunday's game as his wife had gone into labour, launched an attack on TV pundit Paul Merson after he criticised his performances for the Reds.

"Comments from alcoholic drug abusers are not really gonna upset me and who is Paul Merson to judge players, he was average at the best of times," Johnson wrote.

"The only reason he's on that show is coz he gambled all his money away. The clown!"

A number of people complained that Johnson had brought up Merson's former drug problems and the comments were soon deleted.

Back to Sunday - and new Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish called Webb's penalty decision a "joke" and also disputed Gerrard's dismissal, but his son Paul, the former Newcastle striker, went even further via his own Twitter account.

He claimed: "Fergie has his puppet Howard Webb on a piece of string."

He also made fun of Webb being given an MBE at the start of the year, adding: "Howard Webb MBE. Manc of the Busby Empire."
The thing is, and I know I'm being naive and it is never going to happen, but it is about time the FA, EPL, Referees Association had a look into this and I don't mean it in a way as if he has been bought, just in a way he shouldn't automatically be given this or other big games involving United.

But the fact that we could all call it that there would probably be a penalty or red card given against us because it was Howard Webb suggests that they should at least rotate all the referees and give them all a chance of refereeing this game.

Fair enough some of the less experienced referees will make mistakes, maybe get influenced by the crowd but Howard Webb is supposed to be the best and therefore above all this but yet every time he is in charge of big games involving United he does something unbelievable, like against Spurs when he gave a penalty to them for no reason whatsoever when they were 2-0 down and not looking even remotely like they were going to get back into the game.

We all knew Webb was in charge again and we all knew what'd happen. Every time he has a direct impact on the result. Every time. The penalty was an absolute joke. The linesman, in a better position than Webb, didn't give it, yet even 30 seconds in that cheating cunt cannot wait to point to the spot. Cast your minds back to September. Blatant penalty to us, Webb gives nothing and is forced to point to the spot when he sees the linesman's flag up. What a ****ing cunt he is. Hate him.

And for what it's worth I thought the red card should've been a yellow. All these "leaving the ground is an immediate red" bollocks. Rafael went in two-footed two seconds before. Two-footed = leaving the floor. Why not a red? I think I hate Howard Webb as much as I hate Garry Birtles, Mr Ferguson and Allardyce.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

What would happen if someone like Fanning, openly called Webb a cheat, in an article? I suppose he'd get sued?

What if he worded it along the lines of:

"Webb gave further reason for Liverpool fans to think of him as a cheat, when...." ?

If i was a journo, i'd be laying into the corrupt cunt.

Do you think Kenny hates Fergie as much as Rafa did?

I won't talk about that cunt Howard Webb, he did it again and the FA should get on his case. It's happened too many times.

As for the match, I think the difference to our play compared to when Hodgson managed the team is there for all to see! And this despite Kenny being drafted in literally at the last minute. We started to press from the off and our back line was so higher up the pitch than at anytime this season. I thought that we approached the game like we used to do when Rafa was in charge.

I've got high hopes for the rest of the season, we'll be much better.
                          Are we winning?

I said to my mate just before the game they get a penalty and we'd get a red card, I'd barely got the words out and they had a pen.

I can't see how Webb could see that, ITV showed he was 25 yards away with Agger between him and the ball, and him and Berbatov, the linesman, who was 10 yards away and had a better angle gave a corner.

I though Gerrard's challenge was careless, but neither player had control of the ball and both players challenged for it in a similar manner. I think Carrick staying down made Webb's mind up to send him off.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
