Reality Check for us. Played off the park by Blackpool, who completely deserved to win. I love Kenny but his managerial decisions today were terrible. Line up was awful, negative,slow and zero creativity & he also showed a complete lack of urgency with the subs, shocked when i seen Shelvey coming on. One eye on the derby maybe?

Blackpool gave us a lesson in how to pass and move, how embarrassing is it to say that? How on earth Jovo,Meireles & Poulsen were allowed to stay on for so long is beyond me, Kuyt also. I've said it before and i'll say it again Meireles is not cut out for the Premier League, shocking passer and an absolute windbag.

Disappointed in kenny tonight, their keeper might aswell of went off for a cup of tea, that was just as bad as most of the away performances under good old Roy. I thought Torres was excellent, worked his bollox off, Reina kept us in the game and Lucas & Kelly had good first halfs.

Glen Johnson,Skrtel & Kuyt shouldn't be in the first team IMO, i'd actually be inclined to sell Johnson, massive flop if good offer came in for Kuyt & Skrtel sell them as well IMO. Jovo & Poulsen should be offloaded asap. Back to earth with a bang, Kenny has his work cut out for him but didn't do himself any favours tonight, if that performance happened under Roy we would be ripping him to shreds.

This was a massive game tonight, and we blew it manager and players, absolutely dreading the derby.

P.S. All the people slagging off Charlie Adam must be feeling bit silly, magnificent performance from him yet again, stand out in every single game for Blackpool.

Can't disagree with much of that but how many 'reality checks' does this current crop of Liverpool players need?

Did the reality check not come when Blackpool beat us at Anfield, or when Northampton beat us or when Wolves beat us, Newcastle etc etc?

All this talk about new players but if you were a non-lfc supporting footballer, would you actually sign for us? We won't have the money to pay big wages and the player has to fit the bill. Finding the player is easy, getting him to sign is another thing!

I swear too much when typing but sorry - what a shower of useless ****s we have in this Liverpool squad. Lucas was the only one that gave it everything, Torres looked up for it and Poulsen wasn't too bad, the rest of the outfield players however we're a ****ing disgrace.Again.

I can't help but think Kenny picked that team knowing it would be **** and slow against a pacey, exciting and full of life Blackpool side in order to lower the expectations amongst the Liverpool fans since his return.

The players do look unfit, you can take that as blaming Hodgson like a child or see that its actually true.

Have to say the first 20-25 mins were very positive, was nice to see us finally playing some football, really didnt think we would lose this game. Thought we could have made changes earlier than we did, and would have thought it was crying out for maxi and babel.

Babel must be finally given an extended run in the side. He might be poo for large periods but he offers PACE!

For sure it's gonna take time (which unfortunately we don't have a lot of) for Kenny to get his ideas across but there are some good signs. We're playing further up the field and getting a little more cohesion into our passing game. However I think whatever way you look at it we need a good overhaul of our playing staff. At the very least the likes of Pacheco, Suso, Wilson, Shelvey etc should get more playing time. There is no way they could do any worse than some of the donkeys that were out there tonight.
Out the door should go Kuyt, Johnson, Jova, Poulsen, Skrtel, Meireles (maybe).
Positives player wise : Good to see a re-invigorated Fernando, Kelly should be the first named defender down on the teamsheet and Lucas - the most improved player at the club.

he's probably assessing all of the players by giving them a game. You only learn so much from training and matches is where it happens.

I think that to go forward, he needs to get rid of kuyt, jovanovic, meireles he bottle boy poof and bring in some decent wide players and a dog of war in midfield.

Don't know what we're panicking about. The players above played to their standard. Ship out and move on to the next tier of players, before trying out some reserves (including Suso )

Because our players look unfit and he was our manager only days ago. In the same way Benitez will rightly get ****e for signing Jovanovic etc. Quite simple really.

totally agree - they could passd the bal more than 5 yards without losing it

We don't hold it up.

We dont have enough width

We don't run channels effectively.

We don't fill the box on crosses.

We don't have more than 1 option on the ball when we have it

We dont play effective diagonal balls

We don't offer anything from set pieces/corners

We don't tackle like we mean it.

We don't gamble on flick on etc..

Anyway, agree with much of the rest.

So you would consider Poulsen,Lucas,Kuyt,Jovo attacking players? Maxi should have been a banker to start, Poulsen & Jov should have been nowhere near the first team either.

We seriously need to sell some of the ****e in our squad. But Kenny was at fault tonight IMO.
