I think we're much better, I mentioned previously about only having Gerrard and Torres capable of chipping in with goals. IMO we've now moved to 3 players who are goal threats.

I think that Carroll couple play the lone striker role better than Torres has recently (in his moody period) Carroll is a big physical presence in the box he is going to cause people problems. We've increased the movement and creativity in the team we need a player who will make the runs, and a moody Torres hasn't been doing that enough.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Look how well Nolan has done this season. This is in a large part down to Carroll.

Now imagine how Gerrard & Suarez are going to thrive off this.

Ferdinand was quoted as being quite complimentary about Carrooll last night apparently.

(Can't recall where I heard this; LFCTV I think).

well we still have 2 issues ....

Left back - Although we are stronger in this position now pfk has left just hope Aurelio gets a run at LB although Johnson has done ok.

WIngers - really would have hoped to bring at least one in, although Carol has a lot more to his game than heading ability he is immense in the air.

add to that Meireles in his new role, and we have quite a goal threat now. We are more flexible in system and playing style as well as having a greater goal threat, so it's all looking better for me.

But as mentioned, we still have a problem on LB and another winger would have been nice.

LB, CB, CM, RW/LW is the absolute minimum.

He said on Twitter he was "going to be a top player, fact". As did Jack Wilshere.

That's sounds right. It was regurgitated on TV last night.

I hope he actually believes it.

Good old Rio still managed to have a pop at the fee. Ignoring the fact that £30m was ridiculous for a defender back then.

Now I've slept on this - feel like I've found out a bird had cheated on me with Torres but thats done and dusted now - his loss.

All in all bar that feeling I think we've done well, really think Suarez will be a top player for us and Carroll has all the tools to be Drogba esq for us, if he applies himself properly he'll be the real deal.

This summer though we'll need more of the same but feeling we will!

We're definitely looking a little stronger on paper now.

We got rid of a striker that wasn't trying and replaced him with two young, hungry, top talents.

                              We got rid of PFK

But on the flipside we failed to address our weaknesses in defence at LB and CB, and we are also very short on wide players now too with Babel and Jovanovic going.

Overall we're better, but there's a long way still to go.

Oh and if Suarez and Carroll really hit it off as a partnership, we will be much, much better!
