I understand the point you're making but your assessment is based on Torres at his best. He hasn't been anywhere near his best this season or last (and that's not having a go at him, this season he could have been trying and just weighed down psychologically).

I think that LFC with a committed Carroll is a stronger team than with an ineffective Torres. Time will tell with Suarez but it's more than likely he'll add more to the team than Babbell was ever able to - apart from the game against Arsenal.

So I think we are stronger than we were in the first half of the season though maybe not as strong as we could have potentially been.

Fairly disappointed that we have not addressed the issue with the width and obviously for the loss of ****-you Nando.

On the bright side, with season being write off it's perfect opportunity to give some time to Carroll and Luis to gel.

Once I see them play hopefully I will feel better.

****-you Nando leaving is a huge blow but imo we are better off after than before the transfer window.

Obviously it depends if both settle.

But on the face of it we have improved quite considerably. More so down to the fact that Torres hasn't been himself mind. If Torres had his eye on the ball more of late then I think it would have been a backwards step. Losing the best striker in the world will only result in a club going one way, backwards.

But Torres hasn't been at that level for us, be that down to injuries, fitness, form or his mental state. Regardless of the reasons why Torres has been coasting through games and as a result he is not such a massive loss. By getting in two players who will run through brick walls for the cause we have improved.

We still have that little bit of genius in the signing of Suarez and we now also have a focal point in attack who can hold on to the ball when we are struggling, and who can lay the ball off to other players as we build a counter attack.

Magic on the deck and the best player in the air in the whole league. I can't help but be impressed.
            Forwards.......

We got rid of a striker that wasn't trying and replaced him with two young, hungry, top talents.

              We got rid of PFK

But on the flipside we failed to address our weaknesses in defence at LB and CB, and we are also very short on wide players now too with Babel and Jovanovic going.

Overall we're better, but there's a long way still to go.
Did he? I missed that, where did he go?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not sure that any window that involved losing Torres could be considered positive. However, I'm happy that we showed some intent in replacing him, weren't bullied into accepting lower than the £50m we wanted and spent that quickly on replacements.

Positives in the process but possibly not the end outcome.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I thought I saw on Sky Sports News he'd gone, but now I've checked I can't see anything on it, so it musn't be right.

Pleased overall as it's a fresh start and buying young players with massive potential is a step in the right direction.

We need a winger, but that can wait until the summer.

Apparently Stevie nor Cara can believe we got 50m for Torres.

Have they heard how much we bought Andy Carroll for?????!

for that reason alone im slightly disappointed. however, well played to nesv unlike the past so many transfer windows we didnt make a profit. we broke even this time.

again slightly disappointed with comolli. not sure that with his extensive contacts and knowledge of football, he hasnt come up with a couple of names that anyone with a playstation couldnt have.

suarez and carroll arent exactly hidden gems.

Reasonably satisfied, would have loved a winger & Adam but sure we done alright, hopefully both can stay fit and form a prolific partnership.

                          lost torres - gained suarez

                          lost babel - gained carroll

lost konchesky - gained back our pride

we are defo better off than we were but still wish we would have spent a bit more on getting a winger ( young ) and a centre half ( cahill )

                            Much better.

The main reason being KK instead of Roy.

The more it settles in the more chuffed I am.

The team isn't immensely improved yet, but it wasn't through want of trying.

How many times have we seen the mancs, chavs or city spend ridiculous amounts on a player and wished we could go all out to get the number 1 target? And we spunked 35m on a player worth far less just because he was the number 1 target.

I expected FSV to be conservative in their dealings, but in their first window despite pulling in 50m for 1 traitor they spent everything they got, smashed our transfer record TWICE, and were even trying to spend more! And it was only a January window!

That was an immense window and a great sign of intent.

Can't wait to see our new signings play, and can't wait to see what the summer window holds when hopefully they can finish the busy they missed out on.

I think these guys will do whatever it takes to get us back up to the top.

I'm excited about the two players we have brought into the first team. Obviously time will tell, but I am happy and confident and it's good to see us spending money again. I have faith in Kenny's judgement!
